What new RV can I buy for around $600 per month?

Think it costs a fortune to own an RV? Well.....take a look at these! So many options. Granted the price tags are hovering around $100,000 but if you're going full time it can be less expensive than rent.

keep in mind an RVIA approved RV will finance like a house (up to 30 years) so that is why your payment is less...if you finance for the full length of time you'll pay a lot in interest.

We went to an RV show this January to see what size and features would fit our needs to full-time RV in less than 2 years.  Our favorite at the show was $85, 000.  The next day, we found the  RV of our dreams very similar to the brand new one at the rV show:  2000 33' Rexhall Rexair with two slide outs.  Purchased it for a little less than $20, 000 in mint condition and low mileage.  We chose to pay it off in less than 2 years so that when we hit the road, we are "mortgage free!" Now...we have to sell our possessions and our home and then we are truly home free!

Great video guys! My wife and I didn't realize how inexpensive adventure could be when we went to our first RV Dealership 8 months ago. We ended up buying an RV that day! The price? Around $600 per month!! We recently decided we are going to continue our travels indefinitely and are upgrading to a larger Class A in the near future (we love our Class C but it's time to create more of a home feel and get more space). Thanks for all the videos and comparisons, it has really helped narrow down our search!

I've rented rooms in various homes with friends for 20 years... What do I have to show for it I own nothing now ... :( people say an rv is a money pit and the return on investment is a loss? Sorry ... I now live in a small rv that is mine. No property tax... Cost of living gas dropped . I've gained happiness. That's one way to justify your payments... And oh yeah I bought a used rig.. For cheap and I'm prepared to put $ into it . Cauz it's still cheaper than rent. But I don't make a lot if money maybe you do.., all the more reason to justify pulling the trigger and buying an rv.

One of the worst ways to buy anything is to buy according to monthly payments. That is exactly what RV salespeople love to hear from customers. How about shopping for value and price?

Best deals are 3-4 year old motor homes that have already taken the massive depreciation hits. Plus all the bugs have been worked out of them by the original owners. You can get a $250K Class A diesel pusher 3-4 years old for 50% the cost it was new. They fall off a cliff price wise once they hit 10-11 years old too. But in that range between 3 and 10 years old, you could buy one, tour around living the life and then sell it for the least amount of depreciation possible.

Both of you guys are cute as hell and do great well edited videos. Going shopping for anything starting at 600.00 is really the wrong to approach it. Like someone else said...$600 for how long? Like others have mentioned, the bloom falls off the rose for allot of people after they have bought an RV, and there are a ton of them out there 1-2-3-4 years old with almost no miles on them. Think about the RV you looked at new, that you couldn't live with out but could not afford new, then go find one that has little or no use on it. You might save 50-60%. I have had 6-7 RV's and that is the way I bought all of them. Your 600.00 per month will go allot further, and it will be paid off in half the time. Don't buy the first one you see...and pay a really reliable RV mechanic to over it completely. A few hundred dollars spent there will be worth it's weight in gold later. Good luck you guys.

campervandavid, open container laws differ state to state &variables such as size, weight, class, etc of your motorhome greatly effect various legal issues. With a class A motorhome like ours common law (as I understand it) is you can have an open container, you can be drinking, and you don't have to be buckled in as long as you're behind driver's area. Think Party bus, limo, and school bus and these rules make sense. Of course it all depends on the state, the cop that might pull you over, etc.

Bought my roadtrek at a bank of America rv auction for .15 on the dollar 3 months ago, last month bought a coachman class c at the same auction for next to nothing and sold it on Ebay, the profit made went to partial payoff of the roadtrek, 2 more auctions and i can pay it off completely.... be creative!

These people who comment on your looks or how they don't understand the cost are shocking. I can't believe these people are so dumb. Thanks for your work Wynns.

$600 a month " take into account the 10 grand you loose, soon as you drive out of the showroom" stick that on the payment, dont forget to ask the salesman how much he now values your now 2nd hand R.V, buy something German" they hold their value

depends to on 4 things #1 do you have a trade and do you own on it? #2 how much $ are you putting down? #3 how long can you finance it for?#4 whats the unit cost and hows your credit = interest rate?.

I also think it is best to let someone else take the depreciation hit - although in Europe, the depreciation is nothing compared to that for cars. In the UK, when a car is driven out of the showroom, it loses one third of its value.

How much did you guys pay for your RV and did you finance it?

Also did you lose money when you sold it to get the boat?

Savgal, true one must understand that a $600/mo payment would end up costing you a fortune in interest. We say go for the $600/mo but pay $1, 000 if you can, you'll pay it off sooner and save a load of cash in the long run....unless you have investments making you over 7% interest in the market or real estate.
