never trust a man who is teaching you how to iron a dress shirt.... who is wearing a t-shirt with his sport coat.

It takes me *minimum* 15 minutes to really iron a dress shirt well. I’ve been doing them for years. I agree with the “use a water bottle, ” (a can of starch is even better, ) BUT only set your iron to the highest setting if your shirt is 100% cotton!!! Any sort of synthetic or cotton/polyester blend and you have to go lower or you will scorch/burn your fabric. (Always test in an unnoticeable area first, like a very lower end of the shirt tail.)

Thank you. So simple. 4 years ago my mother passed away, and she taught me how to iron a shirt, but I could not remember it all. Was really missing her today for that reason. Thank you again.

Front, collar, and cuffs... really?  And when you have to slip off your jacket you look like a chump.

This video has taught me to iron my shirt with an iron and use a shirt to iron my shirt. Also, sleeves and the back of the shirt shouldn't be ironed.

Wow, amazing tips. Thanks.

If you want to iron half a shirt use the ironing board as shown in this demonstration. If you want to iron the whole shirt use the ironing board as we all know it should be used.

I worked in Harrods years ago and on a boiling hot day we were told by management we could remove our jackets. My student buddy had to keep his jacket on as underneath it, the back and arms of his shirt were un-ironed and he said he would look a wreck!

So at the age of 37 I’ve discovered that I have been using the wrong end of the ironing board. Story of my life 😂

For fucks sake children, he said this is only if you are wearing a jacket, that's why the sleeves and back are left. Granted, it's nice to be able to take the jacket off but if you're in a rush to get out and you don't have a shirt ironed, don't take the jacket off. It's a compromise to prevent lateness. Obviously you're going to iron the whole thing _if you've got the time._
Christ alive, it's called common sense.

I'm sorry but you HAVE TO do the back of the shirt unless you want to look like a Hobo who rolled out of bed.

Shirts of different colors show wrinkles even more.

Plus when you're at you're desk, your back is facing everyone who approaches you.

Not a good look if your shirt is wrinkled.

Such rubbish! This is highly misleading. GQ you should be ashamed for this cheap advertising stunt.
