I love this chapter the most. Sure Maegor is regarded as "the cruel." But Maegor fought for everything the Targaryens, no, the Valerians were about, being above everyone else. This chapter also shows how the Faith, the Hightowers and Meisters started to intervene in Targaryen affairs such as marriage, inheritance, and politics. Maegor and Damon Targaryen are parallel characters, married to barren women and seen as evil for being strong serious individuals who were unwavering in their decisions who rode dragons as fierce as their personalities. Both men were loyal to their brothers and only took command when necessary to preserve their families.

Since Maegor had no children it could be the problem was him, and she lied about poisoning the others since hed kill her anyways
The neat thing about a history book

I have an idea for new "what if" video. It's about Robert's most stupid idea: not to chose Stannis as a Hand. What if Stannis (who knew the truth about Cersei children) was a Hand of the King? It's really interesting because Robert could be alive in this scenario.

These comments are so cursed lol. How can people listen to the Maegor section of the book, which 90% of is just a list of the cruel psycho atrocities he committed, and then turn around be like “Damn this dude is so cool and based!”.

Maegor was a tyrant and violent king thats a fact, the discussions in the comments stems from the fact that, event tough he's bad, the way of resolving the conflict with the fatih by fire and blood was probably the best solution to the targaryen dynasty, it solidified targaryen custom of inbreeding and the claim to the throne and removed the marcial power of the faith. He is the embodiment of "the ends justify the means"

This guy doesn't have Morgan Freeman's voice, but I have to hand it down to him. He's so convincing that I sometimes forget he's just reading, not telling us a story straight out of his mind.

I understand Aneys not wanting to burn the Starry Sept down in Oldtown. But he should have sent Visenya to get Aegon and Rhaena out of Crakehall. Letting the Faith Militant get away with messing with the Crown Prince was an undeniable show of weakness.

I find it funny that during these major events the north is barely mentioned if at all.
The north men were doing their own thing (probably busy being cold or something).
