I love your reminder to donate to a local organization! I hate donating to Goodwill just so they can make money and their prices are so high for a person in need to go there. I have found a local charity that lets people in need just go in and get what they need, without paying anything!!!

Yes put it in your cart and then do a cart purge just before checking out! I do this to really make sure I want it, too give it a second look too check for damage and to stay within my thrifting budget!

I have to rant. Went to a Goodwill about an hour away from my house. They had dollar tree products for $3. I was absolutely blown away with their outrageous prices.
As always. Awesome video Whit.

I recently got 2 lamps from goodwill and made them over. I just painted the base gold and covered the lampshades with material to match my decor. They weren't exact matches for each other, but since they were going on nightstands, they just needed to be close. And the really perfect thing is they both had a drawstring switch, which is what I was really looking for. I spent like $18 total to make over 2 lamps!! ❤❤

The thing I like most about spring is the return of the hummingbirds. We always put out two feeders and watching the little birds always makes me smile! 🥰

I love the scarf hack. I like using thrifted pillows on my front porch. Sometimes I need to recover them, but usually I can find pillows in the color scheme of the moment.

Hi Whitney, I asked you a question about using fabric paint over a transfer that was cracking, I repainted over it and looks good, so it does work.💙💜❤️💯 Thank you for responding to me. Have a Great Day.

Whitney, you always make my Thursdays so much better. After teaching high schoolers all day, you help rest my brain.

This was SO much fun and SO VERY timely! I'll be 66 this Saturday 🎉 and I'm moving from the southern California desert to northwest Indiana in a couple months and I'm totally starting over!! I'm only taking the things that I totally love and everything else will be replaced. The thrift stores back there are absolutely 🤯 mind blowing!! I'm looking for inspiration photos and starting my actual physical list as we speak. Thanks for doing this vid today, just for me. 🤭😁😁 Hugs, MK 🤗

Thank you for this. I usually don’t watch the thrifting videos because I get frustrated that I can’t get the same or similar items at my thrift stores. This was extremely helpful & hopefully it will improve my “thrifting game “.😊

Love all your content!

Regarding pillows and stuffed animals- I simply wash pillows, cover and insert, in hot, soapy water in my washing machine, then dry on hot in the dryer. Some colors, like red, might not tolerate the hot water, nor would delicate fabrics, but I've had great success and feel confident in the cleanliness after.

Stuffed animals, unless they are the decor type with many materials, I wash in warm water, with sanitizing soap, then AIR tumble in the dryer. (Putting the stuffies in pillow cases to protect them, wash and dry.) Avoid high temps in the dryer, which will often melt the fur.

I always look forward to your videos because I love them so very much. You never disappoint. I have to admit, I usually skip these kinds of videos unless my favorite creators put them out. Even then I tend to either like and fast forward straight through or skim watch. This is only because having grown up poor I have been thrifting, bargain shopping, trash day nabbing, garage/yard/rummage sale shopping, curb side finding, auction going and so on since I was a very little girl. I am grateful for all that I learned from my family members in that regard. I have to say I have seen so many videos about thrifting now but I feel like yours covered so much and it really kept my interest. It was packed full of great information. Excellent job Whitney! 🎉⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏🏼

I love what you said about not expecting too much. I went to this little thrift store in a small town not expecting to find anything but I found the best pieces. Left with a bag full and only $8 it was half off day and I couldn’t believe what I scored. Thank you for cleaning tips perfect timing for me. ❤❤❤
