The most important difference you forgot is that excel online will not allow us to link to another external sheet but google allows it via importrange function.

Do you know if excel online is capable of doing workbook linking (two or more workbooks in the cloud/Onedrive) and auto-updating, like you can with normal excel? It doesn't' seem like it but I'm wondering if it's just executed differently in Excel Online. Google sheets is better right now than excel online (not desktop excel) but it'll probably always be split since Google Sheets doesn't work in a lot of countries
