Software Engineer vs Web developer. Is there a difference between a software engineer and a web developer? In this video, I will discuss the differences between these two titles with my experience as a software engineer for the past four years.

Web developer (Frontend development) is more of an entry level role into Software engineering, there are backend developers, Fullstack developers, Android developers and there are other more senior and advance level like DevOps and data engineers, They are all Software Engineers.
There are just different areas within Software engineering, where individuals earn their coin based on their level of experience and skillset.

In 3 years I have done: - Front-End Web Development, - Web Project Manager, - QA Testing. - Information Security, - Technical Writing between Legal Processes and Software Automation, - Created a Service Desk for a Fortune 500 Company, - Mentored 70 Colleagues in various IT fields. I have got to do a lot.

But I am so confused what IT path I want to go. I don’t like jumping around. I started as a Front-End Web Developer wanting to be a Front-End Software Engineer. I still love both those, but I also debating Cyber Security, QA Testing, and I have been told that I make a great Manager, though I don’t want to be in management again.

So I am confused at what I want to do. Thank you for making this video, because it helps in my decision making.

I appreciate your work, I'm a graduate in Zoology and I was studying biology as my major since last 8 years but now after completing my 16 year education I want to switch, I always wanted to be in computer science filed but I'm confused like what to choose, to start my journey in the filed of Cs I have to choose between a web design and development degree or a simple computer science degree ( although I have checked the complete course outline of these two from university's web, they have exactly the same course scheme except in 1 semester we'll study few things like mysql, php, etc in web development and we'll study maths and geometry in the Cs course), both of them are pre-graduate degrees consisting of 2 years time span and after this I want to go for a bachelor's degree of a software engineer or just a bachelor in computer science It'll be really helpful if you could give a hint of what path I should choose

If I am a backend web developer should I switch to another software development role? Like data science or something. Is it a good decision or I will focus only backend? What would be more effective? I am so much confused about either going on web development or software development. I am thinking if I have to know good knowledge of programming languages I should go for software development. But then I see web development is easier than software development. Please give me your valuable opinion.
