That's a question I've been asking myself. I usually mix for a few hours if not overnight or all day.

Thanks for the video guys!

Wouldn't the salt such as the red sea continue to mix inside the flow of the reef tank you are putting it in make it participate out the values just as mixing in a bin too long?
If so why try to mask the true operating parameters of the salt

I store water in large brute trash cans in my fish room (both salt and fresh). Should I keep the water circulating with a pump or is it better to let it just sit? I've noticed that my salt water container has turned a shade yellow. What does that mean?

Swapped to Red Sea from Fritz last Black Friday, can’t store the red sea saltwater more than 3days in my brute container or it starts smelling of ammonia….. I’ve washed the container with bleach several times and still not luck…. Never had a problem with fritz will probably be going back to it

I’ve always mixed mine in a bucket for 10 minutes and poured it in, I’ve never had a problem

crap ive been using redsea pro salt for years and kept large batches of 75 gallon continuously mixing/circulating. no wonder I never saw the 11 dkh. just a side thought, doesnt that mean it will also lose its 11 dkh in the display tank after 4 hours too?

Of course the suggestion is the most expensive salt there is. Currently using fritz and it does precipitate after a couple days so probably switching soon but not the most expensive, that’s for sure

So I gotta ask, and not saying this would be a simple thing, but why doesnt BRS make its own brand of salt? Its literally the ONLY thing ever reefer will have to but at some point. They obviously have seen and heard it all and should be able to make a superior product, cheaper. If not, how about a one part that covers all trace elements that could be used with a less expensive brand, say Reef Crystals??

Why can't you use just regular salt ? I mean, they will all melt the same in the water 🤔 and it's probably much cheeper
