My Bombay was a street kitten my friend rescued and my husband and I adopted her. So she wasn't paid for. Rescues are always my top choice ❤ I brought her into the vet and even the Doc said she was a one of a kind find. She wasn't scared of ANYONE!! I've never seen that before. She is a crazy nut with energy but she is still a kitten at 9 months old. Sounds like she will remain the center of attention with all that energy all her life. 😊 She is already 10.5 lbs! We love our Mimi ❤❤❤

Interesting. I have four rescue black cats. They are not related. The two females have small, white patches on their chest and one also has a white patch on her belly. The two males are very interesting. One turned up in my garden 8 years ago as a 10 week old kitten. He had been dumped along with his brother who one of my neighbours found and kept. My black cat is very intelligent, will watch me do something then try to copy it. He has amazing green eyes, is slender with long legs and an equally long tail. He is also super friendly. The other male was feral/stray. He has most of the characteristics mentioned in the video. Gold eyes, quite stocky build, a rounder face than my other three black cats (he was unneutered when we finally managed to catch him so has the chubby cheeks of the unneutered Tom - we had him neutered within 5 days of catching him). He has rounder eyes than my other black cats and the smoothest, silkiest fur of all my cats and his fur is really shiny. We've had him almost 2 years and it's only now he's beginning to meow, sounds more like a squeak at feeding time. I've heard him purr a couple of times but he quickly stops purring. Seemingly, this is common with feral or ex feral cats. The pads on his paws are black as are the rest of my black cats. The other black male looks like he has Oriental or Siamese through him - long body, long legs, long tail, long snout, beautiful almond shaped green eyes and big ears. Whatever they are, they are beautiful and much loved. I also have 2 tabbies, a ginger and white and a tuxedo cat. All my cats are rescues. Love them all.

In 2024, I found a black cat dumped at the local softball field. It's obvious now that she's a Bombay, but I didn't know about the breed until 2 years ago. Even so, I noted her winning, loving "purrsonality" and striking glossy fur right from the start. I can't imagine how a Bombay was dumped here (very rural, no cat breeders anywhere near), but my family and I have cherished our magi-cat ever since!

Bombay cat's are just Burmese cat's with a Black coat. Burmese cat's are really friendly, intelligent enough to outwit you on occasion, open door's, cupboards, chew open bags of dried food to help their self plus the others. They bond with other cats. I've had 6 Burmese cats sadlt there are only 4 left. They all have their own personalities.

I still do not know if my kitty Licorice is a bombay cat or black cat after this video but either way I ❤ him 🎉 🐾🐈‍⬛️

The other difference is that Bombays have somewhat flat round face and large, round eyes and black cats have a more almond -shaped face like normal cats

Black cats are my world. I find black animals so beautiful but black cats have me.. i own 3, one was a stray who was pregnant, she looks like a black Norwegian forest cat mixed with something else. i kept one kitten, she is very fluffy. And adoptated another cat who is like my baby, very affectionate and bossy and follows me around, shes a black cat and has little white on her chest

Bombay Cats have more eye problems. OK that answered, of the ferral black cats I have access to, our male, Velvet, has the stocky muscular body, green eyes, and a very small, quiet voice, the female, Jett, has the same vibrant green eyes small voice, but a noticeably sharp angle face, unlike Velvet's shorter muzzle. Both are beautiful, silky black fured "house panthers".

The marked difference is that a Bombay usually has golden, orange or cooper eyes and black cat usually has yellow or green eyes.

I really don't care. Black cat are beautiful and fun. Someone once said cats are the kings of chill and will go after anyone or anything that bothers the chill. If black cats are the top of chill, i want them.
