RIP to all the people who passed away in the accident and huge respect for the flight attendant who tried to save the plane

It's not a "common fault" that two experienced pilots missed three opportunities (pre-flight config and TWO checklists) to move the pressurization panel switch to the "Auto" position.

Well, actually it was not a faulty wire that caused the accident but instead it was a routine check from the ground engineer about door pressurization check on the ground, which requires to change the pressurization setting to manual, and the ground engineer forgot to change it back to auto, and also the pilots overlooked this on three separate checks. If it was boeing 737 fault i would guess more of these accidents would happen, but it was not, instead it was a human error and a captain that overestimated their experience and trusted blindly that everything in the cockpit would be at default settings

This is scary watching as there was no warnings and everything looked fine before flight take off

I thought this plane lost pressure because the pressurisation switch was left in manual mode after it was tested beforehand. The pressure warning sounded similar to the take off config warning

This is a video that does not explain the incident well and some crucial information is unfortunalely absent, as well.

This kind of thing really makes me question the quality of a Boeing aircraft and its safety warning systems, as well as the pilots who fly these planes. This wasn't even a problem with the system, it was because a switch wasn't on the right position. This is crazy stupid.

Boeing is a giant company, no one dares to mention it when it comes to such incidents.

this is misleading. the issue was caused by thr cabin pressure system being set to manual. pilots failed to notice this during the preflight check and a second time during the cabin pressure warning. there are a few indicators showing cabin pressure which they should have noticed. blaming this on Boeing and lying about a burned wire is just stupid..

Why dint the pilots realize the problem and make fast desent to a safe altitude where passengers can bread safely

This video should be removed from YouTube. Absolute nonsense.

This video made no mention of the pilots contacting home base to report unknown alarm. End of video mentions why plane went down.

What is the overall safety record of the 737, not only the upgraded ones.

This is untrue, it was the fault of the ground crew for not following the checklist and resetting the switch after a test, the crew not following a checklist and verifying the switch position before takeoff, and apparently poor CRM with a high-ego captain who also didn't follow checkists when the master alarm sounded, despite this being a common incident in simulators. Sounds like he was too good to follow his training.

They retrofitted the 737 to add a light in case you're not willing to follow your checklist and put on a mask when the alarm sounds.
