When ever I see Turkish delight it always reminds me of that scene on the Chronicles of Narnia

I’ve ordered a few deluxe versions of Turkish Delight directly from Turkey after having a few perfumes that smell like it. I was in love with the scent. Keiko Mecheri has a lovely one called Loukhoum. Ava Luxe has one of the same name. They are utterly gorgeous. I think I tried one by Serge Lutens as well, that started with Rahat. So so delectable. I had to try the sweet these were based on. I’ve grown quite fond of them, even the ones with rose petals on or inside them. They are very different to anything else in my opinion. My husband will only eat the nut ones, nothing floral. For anyone wanting a recipe for these, YouTube is full of recipes on it. It takes quite a bit of time and stirring-fair warning for those limited on time or patience.

My son has been to Turkey on holiday three times and each time he has bought back a box of Turkish Delight but they are not the soft pink ones that we have in the UK, they are quite and chewy like a soft toffee, they are absolutely lovely, if I knew how to make that type I would always have a supply of them.

The family tradition is to make Italian fig cookies for the holidays as gifts. This year, I think we may need to go with Turkish Delight instead.

A friend once gave me a pale green mint flavoured Turkish Delight from Turkey that was absolutely delicious. It was my favorite flavour ever of that lovely sweet treat. I've never seen it made anywhere and have never had it since. Sad that. 🤥.

A British twist! Inspired to make this delicacy that was a favourite of my paternal grandmother for the children as an energy sweet after a swim & surf lesson at Glencairn beach. My old kitchen bible The Complete Middle East Cookbook by Tess Mallos has a recipe.

Paul tasted the Turkish, which he liked so much that he licked his fingers, and I would have done the same, I salivated when I saw how he was pleading so naturally.

You can't have a "how to make" with no recipe! Very Disappointed

Amazing, I always thought that Turkish Delight was gelatin made from boiled up cows feet.
