Top 12 most immersive theme park rides in the world

Hello, and welcome to the top 12 most immersive theme park rides in the world. I chose 12 because… well frankly I feel I would create a mob of unhappy Disney fans if I went with 10 and left a couple out. Now obviously this will be completely opinionated, so my choices will not be the same as the next Homo sapien.
There were a couple guidelines on how I ranked these rides. How themed not only the ride itself is, but the theming of the queue as well. It’s uses of practical effects and movie screens. I myself am more of a practical effect guy but if the ride can mix the two seamlessly then it can make for a mesmerizing experience. I am eliminating any ride that is just a movie screen ride. Sorry Flight of Passage. The last 2 guidelines are how realistic the animatronics were made and how well the storyline was developed. So without further ado…. Let’s get started.

#12. Test Track: Walt Disney World, Epcot

#11. N’avi River Journey: WDW, Animal Kingdom

#10. Spiderman: IOA

#9. Indiana Jones Adventure: Disneyland, California

#8. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Tokyo, Disney Sea

#7 Tower of Terror: Hollywood Studios, Florida

First off, I’d like to apologize to those over in California because of the loss of a beloved attraction. However, I will say that California Adventure did a pretty good job of keeping the ride mechanics while developing a world class storyline. And am excited to be able to experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout for myself. With that being said… Disneylands ToT had nothing on Orlando’s version. The experience starts in the courtyard of a haunted hotel. As you make your way into the Hotel, you notice how long it has been since anyone has stepped foot inside. You make your way into the boiler room and then you are ushered into an elevator. Every single piece of theming here has been thought out very carefully to envelope you in a world of ominosity. But once you start your voyage on the elevator, that ominous feeling becomes justified because you are thrown right into the world of the Twilight zone. With section where you actually move forward on a track through the intro to the twilight zone show and a randomized drop sequence, this ride is a Disney classic that I hope will remain for many more years to come.

#6. Jurassic Park: IOA, Florida

As you have probably already realized… every ride so far on this list has been associated with either Universal or Disney… so there is no surprise that the next ride comes straight from Universal’s Islands of Adventure. This behemoth of a ride based off Steven Spielbergs movie adaptation of the book Jurrassic Park, written by Michael Creichton, costed a whopping $110 million to make. Nearly twice as expensive as the original movie. It was opened in 1999 and like most of the rides developed around this time, incorporated nothing but animatronics. While the original Jurrasic Park ride opened in California, the Orlando version definitely has a more realistic feel to the dinosaurs. While taking a slow boat ride and getting up close and personal with these reptiles, your boat is knocked off course by this nitwit. Now you have to dodge a falling crate, evade spitting dinosaurs, escape one of the most terrifying dinosaur animatronics ever created, and survive an 85 foot drop.

#5. Journey to the Center of the Earth: Disney Sea, Tokyo

#4. Dinosaur: AK, Florida

#3. Gringotts Bank Coaster: Universal, Orlando

#2. Forbidden Journey: IOA, Orlando

#1 Pirates of the Carribean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure Disneyland, Shanghai

Flight of Passage at Animal kingdom was by far the most immersive ride I have ever been on. I thought I was dreaming when the opening sequence happened. Also, the Ratatouille ride at Disneyland Paris was also a very well put together attraction.

My top is Spider-Man and I'm glad it's on this list. The story is great and the use of 3D is the best of any theme park. I've been to Tokyo but not the Disney parks there. Excellent video! This ranking is fantastic!

The nail has been hit pretty hard on the head here. Great job not only on the picks but the animations as well!

Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disney. Free-roaming vehicles, awesome effects, and the scent of honey filling the air... Such a fantastic ride!

What about Europe? Have you ever heard about Efteling?

Who knew that they would be putting so much adanced tech into a theme park ride. If Disney himself saw what his creation has turned into!

I agree with most of this list! I would swap Dinosaur and Indiana Jones though. I've ridden both and will definitely say that for both of them being the same ride system, Indy is far more of an immersive and thrilling experience! I wasn't impressed with either of the two Harry Potter rides though. My personal list wouldn't include either in the top 12. Really good rankings otherwise though! I'm sure now you would probably include Rise of the Resistance in an update!

Wow this video is awesome! Thanks for the in-depth analysis on these dark rides without getting TOO technical. Very valid opinions on all of them. Also, thanks for not having an annoying voice😂arguably the most important part of a YouTube video. I’ll head over to your channel and check out your other stuff, this was amazing!

What a cool list! I will take your word on it because I haven’t come nowhere near any of these dark rides. I haven’t had the money to visit any of these parks. Those that can do it- I say more power to you. If I ever get the chance, I will try some of them out. Thanks for the upload! Peace.

Amazing list! I agree with almost everything on here. I think my only change would have been Test Track for maybe Haunted Mansion or one of it's clones at the other disney parks. Love your content and I look forward to seeing more videos!

Great job on this video. Did you know that Dinosaur uses not only the same mechanics and ride vehicles as Indiana Jones at Disneyland, but the exact same track layout?

I would have put Symbolica somewhere but still, amazing video!

Bruh, you implying new test track is an objective improvement is gonna give me an aneurysm. The original looked and felt like a magic 90s physics textbook come to life, and that charm is what made the ride. All I can see with the new one is soulless corporate cleanliness.

Nice to see Dinosaur finally get some respect. It was my favorite ride growing up and it's still pretty high up on the list.
