Paul Andersen explains how your body protects itself from invading viruses and bacteria. He starts by describing the nonspecific immune responses of skin and inflammation. He then explains how we use antibodies to disrupt the function of antigens and mark them for destruction. He then explains both the homoral and cell-mediated immune response highlighting the importance of B and T lymphocytes. He finally describes the process of long term immunity.

I used to use your videos to study for AP biology, and now 8 years later I am using them to refresh my memory for the lecturing I do at university. Thank you so much for your videos!

To be honest I prefer your videos over the popular Crash Course videos, because I think you are very clear! Thanks so much for all the videos I've already watched for my biology finals!!!

Both T and B Lymphocytes are made in the bone marrow. The T Lymphocytes however, mature in the Thymus gland. The B Lymphocytes mature in the bone marrow.

Bozeman science > Khan academy. Your videos are so great and as a student, it is apparent that you understand the material by the simplistic way that you explain it. Thank you!

Jesus christ I've been reading my HIGH SCHOOL biology book for several hours, and I don't understand HOW professors with biology-degrees can use over 50 pages to explain something which you clarify a 100 times better in 14 minutes. Thank you so much for the help!

At 7:58, T cells are not made in the thymus gland.  They are matured in the thymus gland; however, they are made in the bone marrow.

Dear mister Anderson, I'm A student in Holland And I'm 16 years old and I just wanted to say that trough all my school test for biology you were really really really helpful. Most of the time I didn't get it when It was explained by my teacher and then i watched your videos and in 10 minutes I already understand it (even though my English is not that good) I just wanted to thank you for all the good grades I got by watching your videos! You're the reason why I want to study biology! I cannot thank you enough!

T cells aren't made in the thymus. They mature there, but they're made from hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow.
