This Nintendo Switch 2 Update Is Interesting...

A post apparently from one of the factories were the Nintendo Switch 2 is being manufactured has surfaced. But is it credible?

I think Nintendo will ride with the Switch branding for only one more generation. Based on their previous console, each console generally receives an iterative update before moving completely onto the next thing (NES -> SNES; Gameboy -> Gameboy Advance; Wii -> Wii U; DS -> 3DS; Switch -> Switch 2?). The only major exception to this rule has been the N64 -> Gamecube

Even if the Switch brand becomes iconic, I don't think Nintendo will drop the Nintendo brand. When someone thinks of gaming is someone who has never played a game before or someone who is new to gaming then Nintendo is the first thing that comes to mind. They were the first big gaming company, they have their own theme parks and soon a museum, everyone knows who Mario and Pikachu are

The advantage is sticking with the Switch moniker is that half the advertising is already done. It tells us the _new gimmick_ is just the old gimmick...a home/portable console. It also bodes well for backwards compatibility.

Magnets will make the console much worse. It will pick up any soft-magnetic debris, magnetize wristwatches, interfere with pacemakers etc. and it’s never gonna be as secure as mechanical docking

dlss isn't doing magic... the upscaling doesn't come free. espically if you want 4k output. i would think that a 1440p upsacle max is more realistic.

i would love if the switch 2 has a patch for games that were made for the switch 1 to enable 1080p 60fps and higher quality graphics, like imagine 1080, 60 and high quality pokemon sword, shield, bdsp or scarlet violet ect. that would be the dream.

Honestly the 8 inches seems to big for it to be portable. I’d be more than happy with the 7 inch

What if it was actually announced as a global premiere at the Game Awards this year. It would make sense announcing it later this year which would give them more time next year to finalize their product and release it after various Switch titles. Also they could do demonstrations throughout the early part of next year during their Nintendo directs in February and June. Even though leakers are hinting at the reveal to be this month, I believe it would be advantageous for them to do this. But this is just my take on this next system's release.

It is *highly* unlikely they will reveal anything until after the holiday shopping period or they risk cannibalizing sales. Why get the old one when the better one is "just around the corner".
