Naming the next console the Nintendo Switch 2 means the _new gimmick_ is just the old gimmick. Half the marketing is already done; everyone already knows it will be a main console/portable hybrid. Also, keeping the Switch moniker bodes well for the idea of backwards compatibility.

I will happily get it day one... but I'm also upgrading to a OLED this November... need the better screen. Hand my old switch to my daughter and upgrade my account to the family account. Can't wait to give her it too... at least she'll be able to play online with me when we are apart.

As long as its backwards compatible and i can translate my library to it, it can be named anything they want, but i really REALLY want to know what kind of games they have in store for it.

If "Switch 2" is the actual name, I dig it. --- It's smart to reference The Switch (because it's a truly monumental system, to say the least) and at the same time, the number 2 tells people that it's the NEXT thing. Anyway, as you said, (to paraphrase) make the games, and people will follow. 🔥🔥🔥

I absolutely believe the Switch 2 can be more powerful than the Steam Deck and ROG Ally while costing only 300-450 bucks and this comes from someone who owns a Steam Deck for over 2 years and loves his system. Why do I believe so? Because the Steam Deck is already 2 or even 3 years old and technology has improved it improves every year, so I absolutely believe it can be more powerful while costing similarly to a Steam Deck.

I think if Nintendo can do a Switch 2 around PS4 PRO or slightly above performance with DLSS upscaling technology, backwards compatibility and price it between 300-500 it can easily become the best selling system EVER.

Lets be real... the probability that Nintendo does something weird is pretty high.
Theyre innovators, always trying new concepts, for better or worse. They can not *not* introduce some new odd feature.

0:50 you also have 3rd kind of people, you have those who had mental scar on being wrong with Switch, now they are using Wii U saying it was actually a better console than Switch, and try to pray Switch 2 reveal being exactly what they hope it to be, so they can predict Switch 2 fail again lol.

I'm guessing the dock will remain hidden until the reveal....I think the dock is special but that is just conjecture on my part.

Seeing as MK8 is over a decade old now means MK9 is likely to be a launch title.. that alone should shift hardware.

I loved the Wii U. Obviously the terrible sales kept it from ever getting the tons of games the Switch has received.
