I wish after all his hard work Ed would have replaced those rusty lug nuts…

Edd’s tip about making a frame with tape, then filling it in would have saved me a lot of frustration many years ago when I was repairing the rocker panels and a rear fender on my 1975 Camero!

7:02, The MG looks like its new again. The refinished wheels look great as well, but a new set of lug nuts should've been used instead or the rusty originals.

Paint looks great, all the details engine bay and components look utterly shit...

Your right Mal Barker, I just finished watching and saw those old rusty colored tire lug nuts back on without a hint of cleaning and possibly painting.

I would have either cleaned up or replaced the lug nuts.

You have to remember, they were doing up a car to make a profit, that was the idea of the show, and in the early days, they were looking at it from the perspective of an amateur mechanic. So no they didn't do the bright work, or the engine bay, they did what was necessary to flip a not to rare car, for some profit.

No one noticed the headlight surround on the fender (wing) not at all ready for paint?
Open rusty blisters at 2:47.

The one thing that kills me with this episode is the grimy brightwork that get bolted back onto the car

Always a problem with these older episodes was they would blow the budget on one big job like the paint, then it’s always such a shame when they put grotty components like those pitted chrome window trims and those terrible wheel nuts back onto the car.

Why would you not replace the wheel nuts? Where are the wheel centre caps & the roof aerial?

I was hoping not to see Brewer 🤨 otherwise, the job was just perfect 👍
