What causes swelling on left side of stomach? - Dr. Ravindra B S

Usually left side of the stomach, if there is a pain, usually the first problem is a stomach problem what we call as an ulcerative disease. Second problem can be problem in the pancreas. That may be acute pancreatitis or a chronic pancreatitis. Other organs what we see on the left side are spleen as well as colon. So if you have a left sided stomach pain, then we should think of any stomach problem, is there any problem in the pancreas, is there any problem in the colon, as well as there are some issues in the left kidney. These are the problems where they may get pain in the left abdomen.

My symptoms are two types of pain at the same site :1.pain just below the left ribcage, middle left region(flank), between anterior and posterior axial line constant burning sensation kind of pain accompanied by swelling /tenderness, area is usually hotter.
2.pain that worsens with eating food or drinking water accompanied by throbbing at the site of tenderness/swelling.
3.Cannot sleep on the left side.
4. I have done a CT scan to rule out the causes.. Been prescribed antacids, PPI.
What are the other possible causes apart from ulcers?

There is a sharp pain between my lower left abs…I’m not sure if it is gas as when I eat constantly I don’t get the pain but if I divert from my regular consumption it comes back… what should I do or how do I prevent this

I'm having pain on my left lower side under my ribs that feels like cramps/a sharp stabbing pain and this is the 2nd day now. I was straining too hard while I was on the toilet and I think that's what caused my pain(Yes try not to laugh). I'm unsure if I should visit a doctor because it still hurts.

Update: Pain has reduced a lot and I don't think it was anything that was too serious but I think it was mainly just cramps. I'll edit this if anything more serious occurs or if the pain starts happening again.

I recently noticed my left side swells more than my right one, although no pain accompanies that. I have IBS but this has never happened, usually the whole area bloats equally.

Sir i alredy done my apindix operation 5 year befor now i have pain in my right hand side and some swelling in my stomach...socan i have again apindix and my all ultrasound report is normal
