I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.

My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.

My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

I love that you actually hit the ball in your videos. So many channels just sit there talking the whole time and dont hit the ball till the very end

This is an honest opinion, I do not have any affiliation with Saguto nor am I a bot. If this program doesn't change your game for the better, then you are already a tour pro. The swing concepts learned through TS are the only fundamentals that matter. How many lessons have you gone to where the teacher wasn't quite sure how to fix your swing? It's because the teacher has no real foundational functionality to their understanding of a consistent swing. Saguto Golf provides the foundation for which we have all been searching. It's that simple.

Been watching you now for almost two yrs, I'm 72 yrs old, out drive 90% of the people I play with, I've adopted pretty much everything you teach, tilt, elbows, weight forward, went from a 10 handicap to a 7, thank you

I’ve always admired JR’s swing as I’m a guy whose backswing is limited from injuries. You’ve done a terrific job breaking Rahm’s swing into components which are easy to understand and practice. Bravo

Tom, I am so glad to have found your instructional videos. I am 55 and I have just started to learn to play golf, so I had been watching several different instructors on YouTube and was very inconsistent, because most of the instruction out there shows some form of shifting weight to the back foot and then moving back through the ball and I just wasn’t getting consistent contact. But then I found Saguto golf, and everything you teach makes perfect sense, so I started following your instructions, and now I am getting consistent contact every time, which has helped tremendously. Thank you very much for the way you teach, and I hope to run into you one day on a golf course, so I can thank you personally.

I’m a member on the lessons page. It’s got me playing some of my best golf in my life. In the past I was lucky to break 100, and was completely lost most rounds, constantly adjusting my swing which is recipe for disaster. Tom brought consistency and now confidence in my game! Last 3 rounds went 88, 87, 85. I’m going to break 80 this summer I know it! I had one blowup hole last round that got me, rallied and finished with the 85. 8 pars and a birdie is a new PB for me in 18 holes! Keep doing the lord’s work Tom!

I normally don't write any comments... Your body swing is just totally amazing. I am naturally left-handed, but playing right handed golf. Always a problem with right arm cuz of weak support. Glueing right arm to the body is just so consistent making me shooting low score even though I don't play much on the courses! Thanks!

1) I'm 65 years old
2) I've been trying to master Saguto's technique for only a couple of months (if that)
3) I play once a week and get very little range time (I have bad elbows and a touchy lower back, I cannot pound balls all day)
4) I am probably a lot more like you, than you are like Saguto, so here's what I've learned in about 2 months
5) I am 5'9" and 185 lbs (an old fat man with no muscles to speak of)

Am I singing Saguto's praises? Well...he's earned it. Tom has improved my game so much. I've paid for lessons here at home a few times over the years, and not only did they not really help me, they never even spotted my moving off the ball, my move back towards the ball where I would drop down, go down after the ball - way too much movement going on, and they never called me on it (I guess because when I would make good contact, the ball goes pretty good, I do hit it pretty far). These are the top rated instructors here where I live...they did not help me. Video recordings, fancy line drawing software...no help.

I cannot make the aggressive move Saguto does (from the top). If I do I lose consistency. However, as I said I've only been at this for a couple of months. But...I can hit an 8 iron 140 with practically no effort at all (little effort equals consistent contact for me). I can hit that 8 iron 150 pretty easily, but by over-clubbing and swinging easy, I am hitting way more greens. My playing partners are getting frustrated - LOL. If I don't have any real blow-up holes I'm in the 70's - period. Prior to this change, say for the last 10 years or so, I shot in the 70's probably 4 or 5 times a year. Saguto's video on pitching/chipping, with more or less this same technique, is a must. I don't even need a practice swing it's so reliable. Learn these 4 or 5 things, and frustrate your playing partners too.

I do keep my right arm tucked in, but for me it's more about keeping the left arm straight and tilting my left shoulder to point at the ball at the top of the back swing (things Saguto talks about in various videos, and instant results for me). When I really tried to keep the right elbow glued, I sometimes kind of spun out and hit wicked smother hooks 30 yards left (never anything good 30 yards left). I know that's not the swing being taught here, but for me focusing too much on the right elbow isn't necessary, it stays in place pretty much by itself. In other words, your results may vary, don't give up. You must swing body, arms and all from the top, arm swinging from the top will not work, even with this swing technique. Saguto pauses really well at the top, and then everything comes down for contact together. No arm swinging! You do not have to make the aggressive move Tom makes, he is really good at this, and you probably aren't.

Stop turning off the ball, keep your weight on the front foot, or at least more of your weight on the front foot, keeping your body fairly quiet will put the ball at the bottom of your swing (left arm straight, left shoulder tilts towards the ball!). You have to quit trying to hit the ball, quit trying to be careful, quit swinging with fear. The Saguto swing will hit the ball for you! You will have a much more relaxed pass at the ball. If you do chunk a little, you can stand a little taller perhaps, but you may have swayed or gone down after it too much (don't try to go down and hit it, your left shoulder/left arm will be the top of a pendulum, just let that pendulum work, relax your hands, which are at the bottom of the pendulum).

I see my own playing partners struggle with their swings, talking about this with the knee and that with the wrist. The first move from the top, blah, blah, blah. I don't give advice, I just tell them this there's this Tom Saguto guy, and what I've started doing is this...From there it's up to them isn't it? These are guys that can play, these are guys that can shoot in the 70's when they're "on." But I'm "on" a lot more often than they are now. We played in a scramble yesterday and we used my iron shots and my short game shots about 85% of the time. Used plenty of my drives too, but my iron game is just flat out better then theirs at this point. Two months ago, that was not the case.

Thanks Tom,

Work in progress...

I'm brand new to golf - your videos have started me on a good fundamental - lead arm straight, right arm glued to side and both arms straight in the follow through and pushing out. Has made me much more consistent - you have a great way of explaining golf to beginners! Being funny is a bonus!! Thanks!

I've been watching most of your videos over the past year+ (old stuff and new stuff), and this is probably the most concise and comprehensive one I've seen yet. I'm a high handicapper, but I'm seeing improvement following your tips, so keep 'em coming!

Great Tips! Good info on gluing the Arm to the side, turning around your body and straight arms thru the shot!

Tom is the best! He is so good at KISS. He Keeps It Simple Stupid. He is so effective at distilling the complexities of golf into solid, core fundamentals. He has helped me immensely. Unlike many instructors on YouTube, Tom doesn’t overwhelm you with details and technicalities.

I’ve been using your lessons for a while but this a great reminder of all the most important aspects. The “glue” and right elbow is something I usually don’t remember until the 4th hole after a couple of pull hooks. Need to watch this BEFORE my round!

Good Video! Tom, I have been working on my S&T swing doing ok! Went out to play yesterday after 5 holes of struggling the LIGHT went on 8 pars and 5 bogeys. Those 5 bogeys were missed par puts! I found I was putting 70/30 to start when I eased up on that it all came together even with the Driver!!! Mike from Texas 77 y/o. Thanks I will continue to work and watch your training! (Member)

Tom you picked my favorite golfer. (John Rahm)This tip really helped my golf swing. My right right arm was flying creating inconsistent shots. But not now because of this video. Your the best golf teacher on the internet. If you ever run for teacher of the year you have my vote. Keep up the good work. You're the man. Richard
