I believe this is unrealistic, the Mongols most likely would absolutely anhialate the Japanese due to their resistance, they would take over the upper class but it's likely they would employ the Ainu, they loved to co'opt suppressed people who would see them as liberators into local leadership, they did this with the Turkic groups all the time

Mongol culture was largely based around horses and herding animals; it originated on the setppes of Central Asia. How well would _their_ culture have fared in the largely mountainess terrain of Japan? Adaptation would not be all one-way.

Lines of communication with the Emperor and other central authorities would have been stretched to their very limits, leading to local self-government in practice, if not in law.

Personally, I do not think the Mongols will imposed their culture on Japan. After all, the Mongols outside of East Asia eventually converted to Islam themselves despite the fact that some Islamic practices such as halal slaughter and washing dirty things in running water were going against the Mongol customs. Not to mention that many Mongol Khans still seek advices from the Shamans there and there as well after they become Muslims. But if the majority of the population are Muslims, they also needed to appease the ulema as well to prevent the charismatic leader to unite the Muslim civilians under a religious movement of sort or a group of military generals of Muslim backgrounds to overthrow the ruling Khans.

And while I agreed that the successful conquest of Japan by the Mongols will changed the Japanese society on the significant level. I don't think the Mongols will be in Japan for long. As the Mongol Empire splintered into four divisions, the Japanese rebels will attacked the Mongol-backed government with guerilla tactics and destroy the supply lines more and more. Heck, I think that Japan will be the first territory within the Mongol Empire to manage to driven the Mongols out and regained the status as an independent nation. And with the Mongols in China have their own issues to deal with such as natural disasters and rebellions by the groups such as the Red Turban Rebels and the White Lotus, the Mongols most likely will not come back to retake Japan anytime. Heck, the new Japanese government might even sponsored some rebels groups in China to defeat the Yuan dynasty as well. This will led to the good relations between the Ming dynasty and Japan as a result later on. Not to mention that Japan might also get to have to have some good trade deals with the Malacca Sultanate, an ally of the Ming dynasty, later on as well.
