What's up AVI, Welcome Back to Another Video! Here's the second time we fill up the Civic with AC refrigerant, so I figured we upload a video about it! Let us know down in the comments if this happens to you???

You need R1234yf Refrigerant Cans, buy them in-store or on Amazon. Do not get confused on the UV Dyes or other cans.

I’m at 77k miles had it for 4 years now. This is gonna be recharge number 3 for me. I had dealer do it first 2 times thinking there had to be a leak since it needed it so often. This time I will do it myself fuck $510.18

I bought my 2018 off the lot in 2019. It's now 2023 and my Ac is now running out of freon. I'm going to attempt this on my own since you made it look like cake.

This happened twice on my 2018 civic after not driving it for 2 weeks on both occasions. First in 2019 and in 2023. Once refilled, it works fine.

I have a 2018 hatchback with the exact problem. I noticed this current summer the air wasn’t blowing cold anymore. This video helped thanks!

Hey - my 2018 Civic Hatchback a/c also stopped working, dealer wanted $2050 to replace the a/c "Compressor", a/c clutch, and recharge the system - I told him that I'll just watch Youtube vids and fix it myself. I put a can of R1234yf sealant in it, cost me $22 from ebay, and now it blows COLD air! When the dealer sent me a survey, I told them I fixed it for $22 bucks! They just try to take our money a lot. Watch out people!

50, 000 miles on my 18 and already need a recharge.
Honda really did a shotty job with the AC components they used on the 16-18 models

Perfect video. Saved me grief and $, gave me confidence to do it myself. That’s a hot week of my life I won’t get back, but the next ones will be super cool. Thank you!

A mechanic charged me $1000 just for it to breakdown the following summer. Thanks to you, I’m not paying another 1000

Update: the hose kit ($20) + refrigerant ($69 at oreilly) saved me about $900. Thank you so much for sharing this instruction

Mines stopped working early last year ( spring) & found out they Had a recall on mine for the condenser… they replaced for free… was great all year & the beginning of this summer but now it barely blows cold air… fortunately a month ago I received a letter from Honda & the a/c is covered for another 10 years due to a cylinder piston in the compressor that could leak.. & it’s for sure.. but I bought an a/c recharge kit on Amazon with gauge just to finish the year off .. will get it fixed per their warranty next spring!!!! Hope this helps!

Seen your video, Very good information. Came across a guy that works at Honda. He informed me that the compresser may be having problems. Take it to your local dealership. And they will fix it for free.

Look at Service Bulletin 19-091 - there is an extended warranty for Civics 2016-2021 for the factory Condensor leaking. Warranty is extended for 10 years after date of purchase
