Unlike some videos, your explanations are detailed which is what most people look for.

Great Video. I had a problem with wife's 2007 Camry. Thought it was a a possible blend door issue but turned out to be something different. Dealer wanted $2800 to fix the problem. $2500 for a new Control Panel and $300 for diagnostics. I said no thanks and drove home. Watched a few videos and talked to a few friends. Made a trip to the local auto store bought a can of A/C charge for about $50 and all is well in the land.  No problems. It was just low on charge.  We have no proof but suspect the local repair shop that we recently went to had let the charge out because I made them pay for a new radiator after breaking mine while replacing my alternator.  They were also upset that I made them wipe off all the greasy hand / glove / paw prints off the hood and front of the car when they were done.  Don't you love just love it when someone uses an oil filled rag to wipe up oil. I mean really, how much oil can a oil filled rag hold before it just smears it around?  OK yer cars done!! That'll be $157.99 Please!! We even wiped'er down a bit!!

What a great tool! How far we've come from the days of slamming a can of R12 in to a system and hoping for the best.

Thanks man. I'm in YouTube heaven. I just watched a Schrodingers Box video, spotted yours on a good subject, and I'll be watching ETCG after this. :)

HAHA. I wish this video came out a month and a half earlier. I would have looked smarter in front of the boss, but that's okay. Your thoroughness always teaches me something.

Thank you for the great video, very informative. But I do have a question. When you charged the system with R134 you did not start your vehicle or turned your AC on. What"s recommended? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the video!

I have a couple of questions. One is do you recharge with new refrigerant or do you use any of the refrigerant that was recovered?

Also, I have a compressor whine only when accelerating. It doesn't do it at idle or If the compressor is off. If I have the system recharged if low, will that whine go away or could it be something else?

Thanks! Are you charging with the engine on or off?
Also do you ever verify what pressures are in case you ever find yourself helping someone who only has gauges?

I was surprized that you only put the amount of oil in that came out as opposed to putting closer to the system spec back in.

Many times when a bad compressor is taken off it will be completely dry with zero oil in it. When it came new it had 4 oz's.

I was wondering how the amount of freon is determined by the designer. Do the teach that info? Thanks! love the exciting music up front.

Can it suck all the old PAG oil, even without the refrigerant in the system? (et's say lif you installed a new drier, compressor...ect. This way you can put in the correct amt of oil system requires, if you can remove all the oil from the system even from the new compressor which some comes with oil in it. That would be great if it can do that. )

So if you add oil to the compressor before vacuum, does that oil stay in the system during vacuum?
