As a resident Florida man I can tell you alligator snapping turtles definitely have spikes and are aggressive.

Real shame he didn't talk about the space whale and ice titan, those are my favorite dinosaurs and are never even mentioned at mueseums.

The "bigfoot" at the end is actually a gigantopithecus in game, so they weren't entirely mythological with that one

Also don't forget in the ARK's lore creatures are genetically modified, so this is why some of them are so weird.

Fun fact: Arks creatures all have custom scientific names to differentiate them from the actual creature they are based on allowing the devs more creative freedom.

I love how he doesn't realize the "sasquatch/bigfoot" he's talking about is a gigantopithecus

As a chronic Ark addict, this was very, very cool to watch.

This was incredibly insightful to gain your opinion on. Thanks for making this 👌

"A lot of them were larger than a modern elephant". I knew hadrosaurs were big but man that really hit me with a brick of perspective lmao

I've always loved the inclusion of the Argentavis, quetezal, pelagornis, and the sauropods like the titanosaurus. Since those are lesser known prehistoric creatures.

Bring this guy back! 🙌 Ark has so many more dinosaurs than just the ones depicted here. I’d love to see his reaction to how they’re portrayed in the game. I’d also love to see his point of view on the map specific dinosaurs like on Scorched Earth. Watching him play would be great.

Pls bring this back more times to the cameras... he's so cool

Fun Fact: The creatures aren't what they seem, they have different scientific names from normal, and the shortened names they have are just what other survivors call them in lore (The best example being that "Rex" is just what everyone calls the Tyrannosaurus Dominus)

We need part 2 with quetzal(platform building), argentavis(big birb), pelagornis(big birb2), castorodies(prehistoric beaver i guess), liopleurodon(big fish), mosasaurus(bigger fish), plesiosaur(biggest fish), tusoteuthis(calamari), allosaurus(mini trex), brontosaurus(big dino with serious tail sweeps), doedicurus(turns itself to a ball pretty unique i guess), ankylosaurus, megalosaurus(one of the unique dinos with sleep mechanic), morellatops(basically a camel but you can take the water from their thing), pachy(headbutt defence mechanism), raptor(overall portration), spinosaurus(aggresive af and can stand on 2 legs), yutyrannus(feathery trex), deinonychus(feathery raptor)

Would love to see a part 2 with Mr Napoli, since Ark does have ALOT of prehistoric creatures than the ones currently shown. I think it's somewhere around 473 released creatures atm

Can that guy just go thru all the dinos of ark? I'd like just a few hours of uncut reactions from the paleontologist

6:18 Dodo’s were actually thought to be pretty intelligent. The only reason they didn’t fear people is because they didn’t have any natural predators like you said.

lol that Big Foot was actually supposed to be the Gigantopithecus. I love these kinds of videos almost as much as I love ark. But also I had a good laugh when I realized he was watching footage from Vertigo. xD That guy is nuts.

It’s important to note that according to ARK lore creatures of the ARK are genetically related to their real-world counterpart; but have been modified to be better suited to life in a bio dome. All of this just serves to explain game balance decisions. Great video with lots of real Dino facts!

I've been obsessed with dinosaurs since I was 2. When I first started playing ARK when I was 18, I was absolutely astonished at how many obscure extinct animals were in the game. Animals that I never thought I would ever see outside of books. It's only gotten better since then. Sure most of them are highly inaccurate, but the sheer variety really is amazing.
