Helmet Heat Check - Does Color Matter?

Another thought is matte vs. glossy.  I would like to see this test repeated with one each of the black helmets.  I specifically wear a gloss black helmet because I believe it will reflect more heat away than matte.

is that a ZOX RUSH RX in flourescent yellow? these helmets have lots of replacement parts and shields at excellent prices, and they will fit goggles over glasses more easily. i'm going with a flourescent zox rush. 50, 000 miles in LA traffic on a bicycle, and 8 motorcycles later I agree a bright helmet saves lives. people immediately respect and even tend to wave to cyclists wearing reflective vests and helmets. a sign of experience. and u know at thee end of thday dress like a clown if u want it's not going to change anything. bolt on what works. cool temp test! thumbs up. i do these tests all the time. the silver color would have "won", but a hot helmet is ok in winter.

you will never have your helmet on while standing still for more than 5 minuets in the sun. Test invalid. Put a fan infront of each guy for 30mph wind and retest. The helmets have vents for a reason.
