Theists Say stupid Things

Theists say some stupid things sometimes. Thankfully, there's a one stop shop where videos are pulled together demonstrating just how silly those things are. The second 'Theists Say Stupid Things' has it all... Ray comfort saying silliness, Frank Turek being ridiculous and something about Spider-man... Enjoy...

Here are the videos...

*Everything in this video is just an opinion, and should be treated as such - though it is important to ask questions. Any humour or sarcasm is aimed towards the words and actions of the individuals, and not intended to be a personal attack on any individual themselves, under the act of free speech*

I've never heard of someone becoming less of a jerk because they became a christian. At most, they just become a different kind of jerk.

Proof 1: “I’m right.”
Proof 2: “Shut up.”
Proof 3: “You’re going to Hell.”
Proof 4: Sh’t on chessboard and claim victory.

At Sunday school, I asked the minister how could babies sin. He said” they are born with it”.
That was the last time I ever went.

None of these beats the old standard "You're only an atheist because you hate God."

_Um, how can I hate something that doesn't exist_ ?

It never ceases to amaze me that the watchmaker argument is basically comparing designed things to non-designed things like rocks and trees etc, to say these non-designed things have to have a designer.

They say stupid things because they believe stupid things.

"I met Jesus". Knew a woman in college who was highly religious. She could not make a sentence without mentioning Jesus, God or praising them. So one day I get a phone call from her and she is all excited, just keeps rattling on. When she calmed down it went like this:

Her: " I just met Jesus in the flesh."
Me: " How you you know he is Jesus?"
Her: " He came and sat across the table from me."
Me: " But how do you know he is Jesus?"
Her: " We talked and he had long hair."
Me: " That does not mean he was Jesus."
Her: " As we talked, looking each other in the eyes, his brown eyes turned to a sky blue. It is Jesus!!"
Me: " Where are you?"
Her: " I'm up at Saint Joseph Hospital in the psych ward."
Me: " Why are you there?"
Her: " I was not feeling very well so I checked myself in."

So there you have it. If you are looking for Jesus, you will find him in the psych ward at Saint Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Solomon may have had power, wealth, pleasure, and 1000 wives, may have said, "All is vanity", but notice he never gave any of it up

I love the comment at the beginning, "Why did evolution stop?"

Well, it didn't. ROFL

I have been trying to cast out a demon for the last 12 years. But no matter how hard I try my mother in law will not leave.

When they worship someone who drowned everyone and claim that he is so “All loving”.

My experience with people who think they became less of a jerk after they met Jesus is that they are just as much of a jerk as before, only that now they are convinced that their jerkdom is justified and therefore somehow makes them not jerks.

It sounds like apologists haven’t improved their arguments since Thomas Aquinas. Fittingly, they haven’t evolved.

It's more like, I was a jerk before I met Jesus, now I'm more of a jerk pushing Jesus on people that want absolutely nothing to do with religion.

I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious.

2:03 As a former Nichiren Buddhist I also had faith experiences that I believed that overcoming obstacles, and having good fortune were related to my Buddhist practice. In time I realized that I was just seeing things differently. If something good happened, it was because of good fortune from my Buddhist practice. If something bad happened it was an obstacle that I could challenge with my Buddhist practice. I have since deconverted and still see good and bad things happen in my life. I now just appreciate the good things, and learn to accept the bad.

Of course, 13th century Thomas Aquinas quotes were bound to be based upon what was understood in the 13th century. I have reasons to suspect that the knowledge base has changed since then.

It’s simply amazing how Christian’s so readily accept mere claims as evidence. I suspect that if I wrote a book that stated that they had done some horrendous deed that they would immediately demand more proof than a written statement claiming that it was so. It’s a mind boggling double standard that only goes to prove the gullibility of the believers.
