I would like to point out that before the Windows 10 to 11 Era, Windows versions always came out every few years. It wasn't just Windows 7 being replaced by Windows 8.

XP in 2001
Vista in 2006 (after delays)
7 in 2009
8 in 2012
8.1 in 2013
10 in 2015
11 in 2021

Out of all of these, Windows 11 is the one that took the longest, the previous Windows version always had a new one a few years later.

Your gripes with Windows 7 are more to do with low-end hardware and bloated programs. Of course Amazon is going to run quicker on a phone because it's a stripped-down, optimized app. 🤦‍♂️

I know I’m 3 months late, but Windows 7 user here, this os is definitely usable, lot’s of programs still support it, it’ll probably only be like that until 2024 though, but just like there’s an extended kernel for Vista, there’s also one for Windows 7, just bit not as developed as vista’s.

Firefox still supports 7 and will support 7 until Sep 2024 so no problem with browser support for a while.

Nvidia is also providing security drivers until September of 2024

On top of this you can use updates from windows embedded standard 7 and get updates with the ESU

Windows 8 could have been good if they'd doubled down on touch technology and focused on the convertible laptop/tablet market and had a separate stripped back version for desktop users who just wanted to compute without all the clutter. Ultimately though we all know GNU/Linux is the superior operating system...

I know I'm a little late, but you can't necessarily fault the operating system for not being able to load web browsers quickly. You have to understand that you're running modern web browsers on a 10-year-old processor and 4 GB of RAM. Even on Windows 11, Chrome will barely run using 4gb of RAM. I don't run 7 anymore because most of my required programs have dropped support. I've since moved to Linux. But for the time I was running it on my hardware, which consisted of a Ryzen 7 3700X, RX 5700XT, and 32 GB of RAM, Windows 7 ran very well.

Windows 7 is Microsoft's only mouse and keyboard designed operating system. As someone who uses a mouse and keyboard only, I find the UI more user friendly than Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and 11.

I'm using Windows 7 to watch this video and have zero issues. But I'm using a more modern computer than your pos laptop. The only issue I have with Windows 7, although its not really the fault of the OS, is that I have to use a Windows 10 virtual machine via Windows 7 to use Turbotax these days.

Dude, you're running 4 GB of RAM in 2023----that's why your comp is so slow. Win7 is incredibly stable when running on hardware that isn't from the prehistoric age

In my opinion I don't think windows 7 being out of support and outdated has anything to do with it being slow.
Im still using windows 7 today and it runs just as good as it would with windows 10. (I tried win10 in a vm)
I think its your old hardware thats having trouble with windows 7.

LMFAO at you complaining about it taking a long time to load into amazon when all we see in the video is like 2 seconds to load. Then you pick up your phone, say it's "instantaneous" but you make a small cut to make it seems just slightly faster than on your Win 7 PC. If anything, those irrelevant hickups are related with slightly outdated the hardware, and have nothing to do with the OS
