If you collect the eyes before facing Stone Guard, you can summon Shigandang and they will fight each other. Shigandang will kill Stone Guard, but have less health and you still get both rewards.

The annoying part is that the 2 rats bosses need you to kill the king first or you will lose the spirit for second prince...

You don’t necessarily need boss 5 and 7 for that door to fight the Gore Eye Daoist, I encountered him going a different route

It would actually be better to collect the 6 Buddha eyes first to awaken Shigandang and let it fight against the Stone Vanguard. After that you just need to fight either one with half health left. 😄
