FCPS vs. MD/MS | Myths & Realities | UHS | Postgraduation programme | MBBS | Pathways after MBBS.

This discussion begins every year at the time of
induction of new post graduate trainees/residents in the public sector hospitals across Pakistan.
FCPS is an old programme governed by CPSP, while MD/MS is a programme in which the respective university awards the degree to the candidate.
Both have equal number of seats in CENTRAL INDUCTION POLICY.
Then where does the difference lie? which one should be preferred.
It is a useless talk and I think both should be considered equal and now is the time to support both programmes as doctors are leaving Pakistan in a great number.

I just wanted to ask of there is some difference in criteria of promotions (whether one is fcps dr or ms/md) of Dr post residency.
I have heard people who do fcps are generally preferred or get promotions to AP/Associate professor easily?
Is it true?
