In my experience, the fear of losing one's virginity usually stems from something else like the fear of the unknown (you dunno what to expect), fear of pain or fear of guilt/shame (e.g. due to religious reasons). I just had an idea: since the fear center (amygdala) shuts down during orgasm, and fear and anxiety are basically turned off, I wonder what would happen if orgasm became a part of fear reduction therapy. Like, instead of just blunt exposure to snakes (probably my worst fear) if someone waited until I was on the verge of orgasm and then brought a snake into the room while I was actually orgasming, and let me touch, hold, and look at the snake then, would it actually work to end my fear of snakes? What's your worst fear?
