One time my friend’s derailleur exploded and we found all the pieces and he put it back together good as new. It was pretty epic

I had a car that easily held my mtb in the trunk (wheels off) and drove after work about 30 min to the trail head, opened the trunk, and realized I had taken it out to clean/service a couple days prior... Nice clean and tuned bike hanging on the stand, at home...

Another bike I had was on a friend's rack and high winds broke the retaining straps while driving on the interstate, by the time we were able to loop around and go back for it, someone had stolen it so that ride was a bust. fyi: home owner insurance replaced the bike - I paid the deductible but happy to do that since it was a Giant Anthem, still riding the replacement Anthem :-)

Similar to forgetting the helmet, forgetting to bring proper weather rain/mud gear! We're in that season where it gets colder, wetter and muddier now.

Got all prepped and pumped to go for a ride, went outside only to find my bike got stolen...over before it even started. Have also gotten flats and forgot to replace my spare tubes. Right now I'm stuck at work and want to just go ride after watching this.

Stopping to help out a guy after a huge otb, his buddies in total shock, took 3+ hours to get him the help needed and transported out of the forest...emergency services were amazing though

My ride along the trails came to an end when the bearings in my sqare taper BB collapsed leaving me with a 5km walk back to the carpark with my bicycle, and now have no bike until i can get the part. Before you ask yes I did swear like a sailor on leave after i went OTB.

Busted a derailleur almost at the end of a night ride and to get back we needed to ride a few miles on the road. Luckily, there was an ebike on the group willing to haul me back. I grabbed on to his fanny pack and we kept up with the group. Those things are fast - new found love for ebikes!

Last weekend two mates and I drove an hour and a half to a bike park, rode for 20 mins, my mate had a crash and split his arm open. Spent 5 hours in the hospital waiting for him to get stitches :/. My other mate took the bikes and went home, I think he got the better deal
