There is a book called “The Wold as Stage” by Bill Bryson that covers this topic. The overall conclusion of it is that no one knows who Shakespeare was, however there isn’t enough evidence to support the idea that Shakespeare was a pseudonym for another person not William Shakespeare.

Have seen a documentary about him and they were saying he was an Italian refugee.Might be his writings disclosing some ugly things have had disturbed some important people(as always and as nowadays, nothing new under the sun). His name was translated from the Italian, but can not recall what it was.I saw it on TV.This explains why his stories were located in Italy, otherwise, there wouldn't be any explanation.
So, according to that research he is "brother" of Pirandello and Goldoni.
If no manuscripts were found, might be bcs of the different language he wrote in and then gave them to translation.

Fun fact: Edward de vere was related to Henry Howard (The Earl of Surrey), who contributed in bringing sonnets into English writing. And the sonnets showcase more biographical details of his life than Shakespeare's.

John Heminges, Henry Condell, and Richard Burbage, three actors of The Lord Chamberlain's Men, a famous acting company that included William Shakespeare, were given money by William Shakespeare of Stratford in his Last Will and Testament in 1616. Two of these actors, John Heminges and Henry Condell, were responsible for having 36 of Shakespeare's plays published in the First Folio in 1623. Ben Jonson's eulogy in the First Folio clearly praises Shakespeare as a great writer. He states that "thy writings to be such, /As neither Man, nor Muse, can praise too much." Heminges and Condell also praise Shakespeare as a writer, stating that "he thought, he uttered with that easinesse, that wee have scarse received from him a blot in his papers. But it is not our province, who onely gather his works, and give them you, to praise him." These are "his works" and "his papers" that they are publishing. He is clearly presented as the writer of these works in the First Folio. The Last Will and Testament of William Shakespeare of Stratford clearly connects him with the 1623 First Folio through Heminges and Condell and it is clear that Shakespeare is presented as the author of the plays.

Why is there so much info about his contemporaries? What about his wife. He was married. He had children. It's all documented. I feel like there's a specific reason why they keep him all mysterious. But I'm convinced that time will eventually tell. Just you wait.

Historians need to correct this if this is true. I don't like being lied to come I don't care who it is or what it is we based our decisions on the information that we are receiving. It's just like the Brits.

If Bacon had written them he would have used one spelling of Shakespeare. Back then, very few people could read & wright, so people who wrote his name down spelled it how they phonetically heard it.

All of this is untrue or misleading. We have a good stack of manuscripts in Shakespeare’s handwriting - everyone’s signature changes overtime - there was no standard spelling at the time (Walt Raleigh famously spelt his own name three different ways in the same letter) - it is not unusual for there to be little to no record of the personal life of a commoner who was not in government service during WS’s lifetime - there is no similarity at all with between Bacon’s and Shakespeare’s writings, there has been computer analysis confirming this.

Someone recently tweeted that Shakespeare was a clone, LOL I know it sounds crazy but it could be a reasonable explanation for his handwriting being off and the misspellings of his name

Maybe he always had someone else write for him. But the ideas and words came from him. Maybe he couldn't wright or spell.

Someone wrote those plays that haunted us in the 1990's. I took World Literature (instead of British Literature) just to avoid any more Shakespeare by 12th grade. Was not a fan of those works. That being said, I enjoyed the Historical account you provided us!
