If one person is praising someone's work that doesn't mean he is degrading other people's work.

As an English major, I second everything he said. The way Shakespeare goes into the psyche of the characters and writes every word with such precision...you simply can't compare him with anyone. Reading one play of Shakespeare is equal to reading 20 books of other writers. My personal favourite has to be 1. King Lear 2. Hamlet 3. Othello

Edit: to everyone who is comparing Shakespearean works with Gita - What the hell is wrong with you all? Can you really compare Gita to anything? Let alone Shakespeare. And why do we have to compare? Read both then draw your own conclusions.

1. Julius ceasar
2. Treachery of politics- Richard lll
3. Merchant of Venice
4. King Lear

Wow Sir William Shakespeare, legend..
In India not many of us recognise his works. Instead we compare him with other regional poets. This is toxic nationality. Guys common 'great is great' u can't change that. Respect the legend and stop comparing him

Being an icse student and reading julius caesar its just incredible, here are some learnings from it-
1.How Shakespeare creates an atmosphere of vividity where everyone has there own perspective of seeing things, some see it as good for their country some for themselves.
2. How overconfidence can harm us .
3. It give us taste of the power of flattering
4.it tell us the love between the true people
5. It tell us how important are every decision is
And much
Thank you 😊

In my personal opinion, i request people to learn the entire version of the epic MAHABARAT. It will change your life for ever.
The consequences of Anger, Ignorance, Arrogance, Evils, Lust, Greed, Selfishness are all depicted beautifully .
One can learn 1008 moral values from MAHABARAT.

It highlights five essential qualities for a human

1) Gyan ( Knowledge)
2) Prem ( Love towards everything)
3) Nyay ( Upholding Justice and Honesty)
4) Samarpan ( Involvement and dedication towards work)
5) Dheeraj ( Courage, Valour, Bravery)

I don't know why our Indian jewels such as, Kabirdas, Ramkrishna Paramhansa, Rabindranath Tagore, etc. always get ignored and take a backseat in their own country. It saddens me to the core!

I really dont get why everyone is dragging bhagawat gita or swami Vivekananda. Its a video about Shakespeare's way of writing and characterization of the characters. Bhagawat Gita is a great life lesson but we shouldn't belittle other's vision. As an english major I wanna follow this. I alrady have King Lear in my syllabus.

I agree with you 100% on your choices but Macbeth is still his most fun read. It's what's got me hooked on Shakespeare.

Reading these comments I’m absolutely convinced Indians really can’t appreciate others! They would always…always… try compete where debates and competitions are unnecessary! Just keep praising Indian work and provide a validation and boost their ego or else they will just flood these comment sections with their bizarre take
