Hitting balls with your two feet together is another similar drill that also helps with tempo. Always gets me back in the game when I lose my swing.

My go to exersize is creatinv flowers on clubface. Impact spray your clubface, hit 5 balls. 1st should be dead center, second towards the heel, tow, thin and las impac on top from a peg. If it looks like a flower, Great job!
Als, keepe golfballs on each side of the one you are hittil. Do som e blindfolded, start swing mid air etc. You name it.

Good stuff, Thank you. My biggest issue is creating separation between lower and upper body half way through the backswing to start the downswing. This is the video I'd like to see.

Thanks Chris, great video. I feel like I shift to much in the downswing. Is there a drill to help learn the proper forward shift?

Chris..., after about two years of lessons..., I feel I can give constructive advice..., that upper-body circular motion you depicted, that's a 2-D view, that view misled me for many months until I saw my swing from the "top" down..., then I began to be able to "mimic" a proper a swing. Many of us need to see our swing from a "3-D" view to properly understand the "simplicity" in your circular motion view example...,

One thing, and I'd think the most important thing that never seems to be addressed in golf tutorials is strength. I'd say the number one reason most people struggle at golf is because they're not strong enough. To hit a ball well, and far, not only do you need reasonably good equipment, a good swing, good mental strength and be able to visualise the shot you want to play, but you need to be strong. Most golfers watching thee videos are golfers who don't work out consistently or practice consistently so they don't have the muscles and ligaments in their hands, wrists, forearms, lats, core, shoulders, legs, calves and feet strong enough to swing like the pros who do.

Chris years ago my friends said I “swayed” forward a little too much on the downswing so I decided to change it up. Big mistake and my game went to pot. Turns out my forward “sway” was no more of a forward movement than you displayed here. I find the majority of amateurs try too hard in keeping their body in the same position for both backswing and downswing which is a big no-no. 👌
