APARTMENT HUNTING in London 🇬🇧| Why I'm moving out during the cost of living crisis |
Показать описание
Some of you know me as Noda. Well here comes the real name reveal…..
Lovely to meet you, it’s Aymi
I am starting this new YouTube channel as a way to not only develop my editing skills and explore the world of video creation ( first time using Davinci Resolve for this video!) but also to document the new season of my life; navigating through living solo in London! It has been a long time coming and I wake up feeling so blessed that I managed to pay off my debts, leave my family home without resentment and anger and begin to lean into learning more about myself. I could not done it without the support of my‘ Nodamochiiee Twitch TV’ community. I love you my Mochies!
So, why would I move out during a financial crisis? Surely it’s better to just stay at my family home and save money?
I felt that I had been saying this to myself for years and just complain daily about my lack of freedom and began to resent being at home. Over time , I realised that I did not want to leave on bad terms, so I cultivated a deeper relationship with my Dad and began to appreciate all the things he did. I began to realise the importance of being financially and emotionally ready to move out alone, as there had been times in my life where I did move out but I eventually had to move back home either because of a break up or I ran out of money. My family was always there for me. So throughout the last couple of years, I worked on paying off my debts, saving up and planning for the future.
I was checking rightmove everyday and I managed to view 3 flats within the 6 months. I know it doesn't seem a lot because I was either missing the chances to view or could not turn up on the day due to the competition. Honestly, since I was not in a desperate rush and I knew the area that I wanted to live I would put myself forward when chances popped up and let's not mention this whole outbidding each other fiasco...
Flat 1.
_
1 bedroom
1 balcony overlooking the canal
Much further away from the station.
Nice space, quiet but felt a bit far away without a car
- Haggled a lower asking price -
Flat 2.
_
2 bedrooms
1 balcony overlooking the main road
Closer to the station
Quiet, tucked away
- I did go for the asking price -
Flat 3.
_
1 bedroom
1 balcony overlooking opposite flats
Closest to the station
Worried about train noises but very close to amenities
- This time I bidded over the asking price and wrote a short letter why I wanted to move here -

In the next video I will be sharing which flat, the whole packing journey and of course the flat reveal!
PS: Did you spot my Mum in the video?
