The fact that Iwata was using StreetPass for motivational messages to the developers and engineers is just so wholesome. I really do miss Iwata...no one else is like him...

The Switch lacks a lot of the charm the 3DS has and introduces issues the 3DS already solved. Like the Switch can only scroll through the games in one big line and you can't make folders. We lost things like Streetpass, Face Raiders, and AR Cards. I really miss the activity log. I don't get why they just had the switch say over blank hours when the 3DS told you exactly how much you played every game and even let you see them ranked by how many times you played or how much you played. We also lost playcoins. The 3DS has themes, but the switch only has light and dark mode. Absolutely ridiculous and simple problems. I don't understand Nintendo sometimes man. Why couldn't they have small games like Face Raiders that show off the HD Rumble or something?

Mii Pass was AMAZING if you went to a convention, EASILY get all the items you were missing. A shame that's never gonna come back with Switch

The 3ds's OS makes the Switch OS looks like a Tech demo

The DS may have been my first console, but the 3DS was the first console I purchased with my own money and truly fell in love with the world of video games. This video brought back some extremely fond memories I had of the system in its early days, especially seeing the footage of the built-in software and Nintendogs + cats. It was very clear that this video was incredibly special to you, and I personally think this is my favorite video that you've made. Thank you for this video and all of your incredible videos over the years.

You didn’t mention the best hidden feature of the 3DS, every 2/3DS console has a built-in GBA player, full on backwards compatibility with GBA that went unused outside of the ambassador program giveaways, those aren’t so much Virtual Consoles like the others, the GBA emulator was built-in onto the console itself and via hacking not only can you inject any GBA Rom to run as a VC title but you can even get the emulator to start from a powered off system and pick whichever game you wanna play that is located on the micro SD, in theory had the 3DS had a GBA slot it would have been fuuly compatible with the GBA similar to the DS.

This video has made me SO nostalgic for the early 3DS days. The 3DS is BY FAR my favorite console, but of course, I'm heavily biased. When I got my 3DS in 2011, I was 10 years old and upgrading from the DSi to the 3DS was MIND BLOWING! The UI and all the little features like Streetpass went a long way in making it feel so special. I adore every little bit and feature the 3DS has. Going out shopping with my parents wasn't a bore anymore because bringing my 3DS and getting Streetpass was a lot of fun! And of course, getting those sweet sweet Playcoins too.

Nothing will ever feel as special to the 3DS to me, thanks for the awesome video and all the memories ❤️

I remember getting my first 3ds in 2014 for my 7th birthday by my grandfather. It will forever be a gem to me. There's something about the 3DS and the Wii U that the Switch is missing like a lot of Nintendo charm. And by Nintendo charm I mean by like Menu themes, or ambience to make it feel less lifeless.

The 3DS is an engineering marvel and this video to me is an reminder of the level of innovation Nintendo used strive for: fun.

This video made me realize how much I miss Streetpass... I wish the Switch still had that, I liked seeing my friends' Miis.

I’m very glad that he’s back with a new video. I’ve been rewatching his old stuff in anticipation for his return.

I really appreciate the 3D slider. Because my other eye is partially blind I cannot see 3D effect and if I were to play 3DS with 3D on or even watch 3D movies my eyes would start to hurt pretty soon. With slider I am able to enjoy 3DS games without the 3D effect.

Bonus thing: N3DS has the hardware to play GBA games natively, due to the DS mode being implemented. It's the reason why the GBA games that are available for ambassadors can't be put in sleep mode or do savestates, the system is in GBA Mode

The 3DS was the first console I did any serious gaming on. I had a Gamecube when I was little but I was too stupid to get past the first locked door in Luigi's mansion, so I don't really count that, whereas I got sucked into Ocarina of Time 3D and really grew to appreciate games as more than cool toys for the first time.
I loved the 3DS so much as a kid, the 3D was always the coolest thing to me and I loved playing around with it and showing people how it worked. I adored all the extra capabilities the 3DS had. I used to print my own AR cards and I remember discovering the fact that bigger AR cards made bigger AR characters when I accidentally printed a card in A4 size. Then, not knowing how to print something bigger than that, I tried in vain to draw my own giant AR card.
I had so much fun with the camera, with the voice recorder, all of these things are cherished memories for me and it's really cool seeing how hard won a lot of these features were.

I'll always be grateful to the 3DS team for putting so much effort into that little console.
All of those extra and, perhaps to some, "superfluous" features meant so much to me as a kid and even more so looking back on them now.
What a special console.

P.S.
I upgraded from my old metallic blue 3DS to a New 3DS XL when i got into Monster Hunter, and moving my save data from one to the other almost felt like a betrayal. I kept the old one as a relic of sorts for ages before lending it to my girlfriend, who wasn't much of a gamer outside of playing Mario on her DS when she was a kid, and with it she also fell deeper in love with videogames. She also took to Ocarina like a fish to water and recently we've been able to enjoy a lot of games together, all thanks to my old 3DS acting as a stepping stone for her.
Really, such a special little console (and Ocarina such a special game xD)

the 3DS is one of the greatest consoles of all time. There are no other consoles that make me feel the way it does and I personally feel like it didn't get the recognition it deserved from all corners. I'll always remember my first experience with it and I'll never ever forget the pride when I purchased my own, and how much I still love it and cherish it.
