Just an interesting thing about armadillos. If you cast haste on them their movement animation changes and they move around the battlefield by rolling.

what love went into to this, also your video man- but the hota flavah does alter the ground game mechanics, also it talks to tons that it's hard to to this 25 years after game release.. what a gem homm3 is.

Best of luck for 2024! Almost one year of H3G, and you have been quite a workhorse.

Btw. I wonder what happens if you take a loan and then lose your town. If the decreased income applies now to your opponent, that would be a dirty bomb :)

As far as the Automaton u can tell by looking at the flame on the rear part of there body if they are set to blow up. U will notice the fire being alot brighter and more intense burning if they are set to blow up.

I think the grail is more of a pvp oriented feature. Might not be the strongest ever, but seems really interesting for denying enemies from using 1 stacks to soak spells or attacks from your units. Since 160~ damage would kill most units.
Oh and the sentinels show they are activated (to explode) by having a larger fire animation in their behind.

The funniest in this town is that Crystal-wise way more needy than the rest of the factions main resource what the tier 7 dwellings regularly use, the Resource Silo is just basically not enough for both. Requires Trading Post nearby, Warlock's Lab, Warehouse of Crystal or Crystal mines for their consistent income per day to be effective.

Learning about Factory originally i was worried it would be tad overpowered compared to other towns, however the excel spreadsheet shows that they are pretty balanced. Whole faction seems to be a bit of a glass canon, so you can be a pain but only if you play it smart

You can force ranged units to shoot your bounty hunters instead of going melee by casting force field

I used to go around all the towns upgrading their mage guilds to get town portal. Now I know that spend resouces for reroll is more effective.

The mana vortex was alway given to the garison inside the town hero. Now only visiting hero can get the bonus.

Nice review. A lot of details uncovered. Did you try to clone engineers multiple times to resurrect mechanic creatures (the same tactics like Archangels + Clone spell)? Does it works in this version?

I played with Victoria though landmine is a meme spell. I thought it should maybe increase the amount of mines too. However it was cool to get tactics, take a defensive position and cast landmine. More often than not I could position myself in a way to bait the ai into stepping on them, with 30 power it was doing up to 600 damage but ofc this becomes useless when you have a lvl 4+ damage spell or even lightning bolt

I think mainly these new skills for these units were inspired from Heroes 4, Heroes 5 Heroes 7 Heroes 7.5 mod (with 12 factions soon Conflux too so 13. all Heroes 1-7 towns), pre attack, (Heroes 4 shooters and Heroes 6-7 minotaur) teleport like underground like in Heroes 7 troglodyte, bomb own uni at death (Heroes 5, demon, Heroes 6-7 fire elemental) etc etc.

1. some units are pretty weak, but I don't think it's a weak faction, it definitely isn't for me though
2. I disapprove of the airship, I think the game is worse with it existing
-it makes border barriers and towers worse, it also means map makers can't leave empty spaces behind powerful guard stacks, imagine going over the black dragon stack with an airship and picking up golden helm
-it makes defending territory more dificult, makes ai potentially more obnoxious
-paradoxically it makes traversal items (wings) and spells (dimension door town portal flying) actually more important now as being able to quickly get back to your territory is now even more important and being able to do it can get punished even harder
-it also interacts with shroud of darkness since you can fly over terrain having any kind of fog of war makes those mountains that much more dangerous to not see
3. So far I played a few skirmish maps, halflings and armadillo's are your early game carries, mechanics are often worse gargoyles that don't fly, the sandworms with their devour corpse ability is difficult to actually use in a fight.
In your video you checked only upgraded versions, but the armadillo get's almost no stat bonus from upgrade only +2 speed 1 attack 1 defense, many tier 3 units also get +5 health or +1 damage.
4. started the first campaign map and reminds me of in the Wake of Gods, puzzle map that you have to map out your moves in an exact way or you fail, and I hate those, will give it another shot later but urgh.
