Over the course of my clinical experience, I've helped many people -- including those who were actively in the process of dying -- with their death anxiety. Among other things, I've discovered that death anxiety tends to be more prevalent among younger people than older people. In this episode, I'll discuss why that might be the case and propose a method for coping with this type of anxiety by drawing on the wisdom of Greek mythology.

God bless you I’m 23 have daily death anxiety that comes from that reality that it’s inevitable we all die. I like everything you had to say life change words with a kind soul. I’ll prepare for a well earned rest. See you on the other side.

I work with the dying for many years. ICU nurse my whole life. Often it is the family memebers of the dying most conflicted by it. The regrets should have could have thoughts. So live in the present. Cherish every moment but be calm when the winds of fate change.

I'm more afraid of pain and waking up in an absurd or painful afterlife. All unconsciousness is the same, pre-birth, sleep, perhaps a coma, death.

Some of your best videos are also your least watched. I would ask: why? But this time it is obvious, the subject is too frightening for some, but you addressed it poetically and thoughtfully. Excellent, as always.

I'm watching this while suffering from insomnia :') i have an irrational anxiety about going to sleep and despite being in therapy for many years, I cant quite overcome this. But your video still helped me a little, since I know I need sleep to function and Im afraid of dying. I hope I can find peace in that after I overcome my sleeping problems. I'd like to think that it will mean I'm ready to accept death as something necessary and neutral too.

That was quite an original and excellent analogy between sleep and death, thank you. I distinctly recall first comprehending the true magnitude of death at age 8, which sent me on a later path to read everything about the subject I could.
I also wonder whether you have investigated Near Death Experiences, most of which have a few consistent features (sense of separateness from the physical body, moving towards a majestic living light which turns out to be God/Source when approached closed, perceiving angelic beings and/or departed family members, sometime a life review) and would therefore not appear to fit the hypothesis of random chemicals firing off in the brain?

Out of all the videos…. This is Good. I never Looked at it this way. Look at it as Sleeping at the end of a Tired long day. Ima replay this video When I start to think of Death and become anxious.

Man you have no idea what you are missing 😂 about death and sleep as a death practice…. Course after death you get to the same place you get when you Lucid dream. Thats is why lucid dreaming is a practice for death and not why you say here 😂
