Food allergy tests aren’t helpful

I made the same mistake you may be making now. 

Early in my career, I used food allergy tests and relied on them for answers. 

But now more evidence shows that food allergy testing isn’t accurate.  

That’s why our clinic uses labs only as one-fourth of the data to formulate a treatment plan.

I took both a delayed food allergy test and sensitivity test. After dropping all the foods on the list, my severe depression was gone. Was it a placebo? No. Years later I ate sunflower seeds. I developed severe back pains and then the depression came the day after. I dusted off the test result in my office and found out that sunflower seeds was a "borderline" food. Within three days of dropping it, the back pains and depresison left. No placebo effect there. I was finally cured with antibiotics thanks to a Chinese doctor who traced the whole problem to bad gut bacteria.

IGG Testing was 90% accurate for my daughter. She was truly allergic to 30+ foods when she was little. I think a distinction needs to be made for igg, iga, etc

If you want to avoid having to differentiate between allergy testing vs sensitivity or intolerance testing, I’d advise updating the title, at least? And perhaps be mindful of this in future videos when addressing topics such as these because if you change the language, you change the meaning of you’re saying, and that’s how can transpire. Pardon, this is not meant to be a harsh accusation but rather a well-intentioned critique.

We did the everlywell food test for me and my daughter and I think they were way off. Mine said I was fine with dairy but I’ve always gotten sick after eating it.

I have slight disagreement. While it could be placebo, i know someone who took it and it was actually very accurate with what we already knew they were unable to eat. Everything from the cortisol to the microbiome stuff was predicted beforehand. This was a hair based sample test. I think this stuff might be in early stages, but they seem to do a good job of making a rough estimate

Had blood work done. Learned I have celiacs disease. Only symptom I had was I get a little congested after eating bread.. blood work shows damage to my small intestines and I'm deficient in iron due to this damage. That's not a food allergy but it was in the group of testing for the reaction I was getting. So I disagree with your video. So if I didn't get this allergy testing done that was included with the celiac disease testing.... That could have developed into cancer if I did not learn this.
