Have you ever wondered how electronic devices work? From sand to sophisticated technology, we've created a video that will take you through the entire process, step by step. This short is just one snippet, so check out the full video at the link above! You will discover how silicon dioxide or quartz from sand is transformed into semiconductor material and how it's controlled to conduct electricity. You'll also learn how transistors are made, which act as switches or amplifiers. You'll then explore how billions of these transistors are used in modern CPUs, making them switch on and off faster, allowing you to do more things in the same amount of space and power. Finally, you'll be introduced to digital logic and how switches are used to create digital devices that think in 1s and 0s. This is quite the ride, so hang on tight!

Man, I was looking for this sort of stuff. The base of all computing.
Thanks a bunch

It's pure silicone that we cristallise not silicone dioxide, it's an ingot of (intrinsic pure silicone in this case or doped ) either in monocrostalline or polycristalline form
It's called czochralski process

Blast furnace
Coal 4 + Sand 4 = silicon 5×

How do we get the silicon dioxide seed ? Or crystal ?

And rotate the crystal seed as it is pulled.

Invented by a polish chemist Jan Czochralski
