This is a great video.
Something I wanted to drop a line about is at 11:52 you say, "I don't know why you would send yours prefader..." A lot of times in smaller spaces, I will send drums pre fader to FX because the natural sound of the drums in the room is already loud enough and does not need any reinforcement. This way I can get a reverb tail on the snare drum without making the snare any louder in the main...hence all wet and no dry in the mains.

I'm very familiar with the Allen and Heath, Presonus, Soundcraft, Yamaha, and rack-mounted Behringer consoles - but in a few weeks, I'm going to be filling in for a sound engineer at a venue that uses an M32R - and I've never had a chance to mess around with one! The closest I came was this summer when I mixed a magic show on an X32 - and there were a few things (channel naming, the mono channel, and "sends on faders") that initially tripped me up.

I've been binging all your videos and it's probably the best content out there on the console! Thank you!

Initially, I came into your videos knowing there were only a handful of things I needed to figure out, but in the process I've learned so many little tips and tricks that will make the shows a breeze. There's also been a few things along the way that have been really affirming - for instance, I always do some dramatic EQing to tighten up the subs. I rarely see people do that - and it's so nice to see that I'm not alone!

I'm shadowing the engineer next time there's a show - so between that experience and your videos, I should be prepared.

Twoish questions, though:
I've got a basic show file laid out the way I like to usually work in the M32 Edit app. Will I be able to easily sync that show file with the console over the WiFi connection like I've done with my XR18 - or is there a better route to go?

And tied into that - if I want to keep the Mains/Sub/Monitor EQ that has already been set up at the venue as a starting point, I'd need to "safe" those channels/parameters before I bring in my show file, right? Or will my show file just completely override that?

Again, thanks a million for making these videos! I'm a terrible drummer, but I love geeking out about drums - so I've enjoyed the drumming videos. I'm a big musical theatre fan (line by line mixing is my jam) so your video behind the scenes of the Rent "pit" was really cool too! Had to subscribe because everything on your channel is right up my alley.

I find that using a laptop with m32 edit is the fastest way to do the initial setup (besides assigning DCAs and doing low cuts on channels), mainly because typing channel names on a keyboard is faster.

I also wonder if you've tried the mixing station app instead of the midas tablet app. You can make your own layout, create your own buttons and stuff to do your fx mutes, tap tempo, etc... Gui is ugly af but otherwise it's a godsend.
And you can use it on your phone (in case you don't have a tablet).

I went through several rat cables and found they ping test longer than their physical length. Unfortunately I couldn’t sacrifice length so I went with EliteCore tactical cables. I was able to purchase (2) 300’ cables and convert a hose reel to hold both both for less than the cost of the Rat Supercat. If you don’t need tactical cables because of a permanent install than ProCo makes one that works great at 300’. The experts will tell you to never go longer than 75m but I can attest that 300’ / 91m is no problem with the right cable spec.

Hey I did catch the show at the Budweiser stadium - and thought you had used the Midas32C (rack unit) if so - are you able to do playback on the 32C unit from SD Card - if you have a min - is it possible to do playback recording on the 32C?

Thanks and great videos as always.

Hi Billy! Please tell me, if I connect the m32c+dl32 to the main console on stage, do I need to use hi pass filters on the L and R matrix?
