Survey design involves the collection of quantitative data through structured questioning (primary data). A suitable strategy when the research objective is to describe a problem or situation or to test a certain theory. It requires a large number of variables and a large number of respondents.
It enables you to generalize the research outcome to a broader context, which contributes to the external validity.

What is the nature of surveys?
- Larger number of observations
- Extensive data generation (Collection of data through questionnaire)
- More breadth than depth
- Random sampling (To avoid bias)
- Relationship between variables
- Remote closed data generation
- Requires quantitative data and analysis

The goal of this lecture is to enhance your capacity to conceptualize and design the questionnaires.
