When Carly Patterson was competing in the all around Aly’s mother said I don’t know how her mom does it I’m glad I will never have to go thru that. Now she’s been through it TWICE. I love irony.

in glamour's documentary aly says that she was watching olympic gymnastics w her mom when she was little and when the camera cut to the gymnast's parents, aly's mom said, "i'm so glad i don't have to go through that."
and aly said she was PISSED

The fact that Aly’s mom says “catch it” shows that she’s learned Aly’s routine to the point of memorization so she will know just what Aly will be doing next, and thus will send Aly the best possible encouragement for each move, from a mother’s heart to a daughter’s heart. THAT is real support.
