Okay but that 360 camera shot and the video overlap? Bruh they should film all olympic sports like this.

McKayla was able to finish rotating, then write a thesis on the physics of gravity before she landed.

To all the butthurt guys who think this comparison is stupid,
1. McKayla is the best female vaulter in the world till date.
2. No one is taking anything away from Kohei, he's a fantastic gymnast and already proved that over and over.
3. The point of this video is to show McKayla's strength, not to show Uchimura weak. No gymnastics fan will *ever* call him weak, he's a gymnastics king.
4. Both of them are definitely much better than those who are making the salty comments, so give them a break

McKayla's vault is the literal 'gold standard'.
Nobody (recorded) has ever come close to that level.

McKayla's Olympic vaults were perfect. The best I've ever seen in 45 years of watching the Olympics. I've seen some great vaults in that timeframe, but McKayla was the only woman who made my jaw drop. The incredible height, perfect technique and she stuck the landing like a dart hitting the bull's eye on a dartboard. Just amazing.

Even after almost a decade since McKayla’s vault, I’m still mad the judges didn’t give her vault a 10.0 execution.

McKayla's was the greatest vault I've ever seen. "Absolute state of the art." And year after year, I have to come back to watch greatness...because when you see greatness, you will know it....

The judges should be required to show their scores publicly so the audience can see where the bias is coming from! They used to do that a couple of decades ago, time to hold judges accountable!

So many people in the comments REACHING to defend why Kohei is better. Why can't you just let a woman be better for once? Salty people.

Well the other usa girls said in practice she made the entire vault stand shake, shes one powerful athlete that gets underestimated because she has a small frame.

McKayla was able to get a better block off the table because she was in a "better" handstand position when she hit it. Great vault by both competitors, but MyKayla's vault should have been awarded a 10 in execution.

I remember watching this on NBC during the Olympics. Could not believe how high she got. It was awesome to watch

she blocked that vault perfectly.🤯 Just pause it at the beginning and look at the point of entry. That technique was clean.👏🏿
