Aly once told the story of when her and her mom were watching the 2008 Olympics together and they showed a video of Nastia Liukins mom in the audience while Nastia was competing, and Aly's mom at some point said "That must be nerve wracking, I am so happy I'll never have to watch any of my kids compete like that"

Lord knows how many times they’ve seen her fall, hurt herself, fail, be depressed about not doing well, etc. Their reaction shows how much they care and are devoted to their child’s success.

That’s what it means to raise an Olympian, you know their pain, their struggles and their ups and downs, so even when you know you’ve done everything to prepare them, you still want to give them all you have and all you are, that’s what does emotions were !!! 👏 👏 👏

That scream at the end! I can still hear my parents screaming at my figure skating competitions - can't even imagine what they would've been like watching me at an Olympics lol. At nationals, some parents would leave when their kids was competing cause they'd be too nervous ❤😂❤😅
