I had a C64 in the 90s and had lots of tape games, but also a single catridge game. I think it was Terminator 2. I think it was the first ever games cartridge I owned.

Back in the day, I preferred the Amstrad CPC 464. Happy times 😊

In the UK, we also had a C64 with a completely different shaped case. It looked more "squared off" like a small Amiga or Atari ST. It was still milk white with an off-white keyboard and supplied with a matching styled external 5.25" floppy disk drive.

In Finland, early 1990's, the "Musta pörssi" chain sold a C64/Datassette/joystick kit with a brown breadbin case with dark brown keys. These were likely a new run with old or modernized moulds instead of being from the original 80's run. The joysticks were Commodore branded and quite crappy, with rubber pad contacts that made a ploppy sound and either the conductive rubber wore out or the dome tore and sagged. OTOH, I still have my original Quickshot Turbo II that works, although the screw posts have borked and it is now held together with tape.

I had the original Commodore 64. That was my first gaming platform. Forced me learn some DOS commands as a four year old just so I could play the games.

apparently it was 'G' for Germany, where the H-L switch (something to do with sound modulation for NTSC was hardwired to 'Low' for Germany). Also I think it was tailored so it could be used with electronic keyboards more easily but dunno if that's true as I think the UK original C64 could plug into MIDI.

I have never heard of this model before. I would love to learn more if you are able to do a full length video on it. Still, great short.

It was launched AFTER the more modern looking C64C.
Nobody knows what Commodore was thinking... again...😅

Used to own Commodore 64, though not sure if it was G or other letter or something else, but it was Commodore 64. I come from a "central Europe". Now there is a nice CCS64 PC Emulator that you can play Commodore 64 games, I have got around 2GB of Commodore games. Most of the games are under 1mb so I think I have got 1000s of Commodore games.
