Let's explore & test the new C64 CIA & CPU chips that finally exist! I'm so excited to share this one. (You'll also get to meet #SassyPeri as I take a rare moment to answer some YT comments.) Huge thanks also to the EVO 64 team and Jani Laatikainen for allowing me this exclusive access to the first production EVO 64 & the beta J-chips you'll see

How could anyone possibly say anything awful about this show?! It’s the purest, most heartfelt thing on you tube! 😂

As a british chap of a similar age to your good self, i really appreciate what you do and how you do it. To me it not only covers the technology that was around in my childhood but it does it in a happy friendly and inviting way, which people of all ages can enjoy. The whole spirit of the show evokes a time when there was less cynicism and things being done for purely for shock value or clicks. It's educational, informative and entertaining - something that the BBC used to do well back in the day. Thanks for taking the time to give us this and here's to a great future!

I can't believe there are people out there annoyed by your voice. I find your voice to be very soothing and relaxing. Like Bob Ross. You are the Bob Ross of retro computing. Too many killjoys out there who deserve to be shamed. Your content is stellar. Keep it up.

Please don’t change a thing about your videos (unless it’s something that YOU want). Your content is some of the best content on YouTube, and there are a lot of people who really appreciate your positive attitude and the nostalgic journey that you take us on with every episode. It’s really easy to let the negativity get to us, especially when you’re involved in such creative endeavours, but I just hope you know how much your work and passion means to us. You’re content has surely kept a lot of people sane during these crazy times that we live in. 🙂

I just cannot imagine how on Earth there could be haters for this. I've only dreamed of creating a new Commodore 64 from scratch. Also, I was blessed to have received a Commodore 64C for my 16th birthday in 1987, from my dear old dad. I absolutely LOVE that you did the case in the style of the 64C. Please keep doing what you're doing; I'm sure there are lots of people out there who love it, just like I do.

This is why we can indeed have nice things. Thanks for everyone’s hard work to bring this back to the modern era!!

A thing of beauty. I love it. The Commodore 64 with a hint of modern design. The random placement of the LED’s add to the effect.

In 1989, I was in college learning electronics. Everyone in the class got a TRS-80 color computer kit to assemble and keep. I don't mean to brag (much) but I was the first person to get their kit assembled. Not only that, mine was the only one that worked. My instructor asked if the school could keep it for classes since it was the only one that worked.

I absolute love the fact you have put together a completely new c64 all the great people in the retro community that have developed new parts to allow us to continue using our retro machines or completely build a new machine have done a fantastic job

As Arnold would say, "ignore the naysayers". But seriously Perifractic and all of the Perifractic family, you are to be highly commended for your enthusiasm and tireless efforts to keeping the spirit of the Commodore 64 and retro computing alive in such a fun, informative and contemporary way! And what's more, you make it look easy when it is clearly not, and you never cease to amaze us in seeking to find a new angle on the Commodore world. I'm sure, if he were still alive today, even the tough minded Jack Tramiel would say "We Salute You!"

Thanks for what you do for the retro community. Commodore 64 was the most important computer in my life. It started my career in engineering. I can't wait to make an Evo, commodore 64!

I would have to say that If I had built a brand new 100% new C64. I think I would sit there with the finished board on my desk and just cry with happiness.
There are just no words to cover it.

I have always loved your style, your sense of humor, the way you interact with your dogos, lady fractic's co-hosting is spot on also. Don't ever change. Watching some of your videos in the past, I have laughed out loud and had to re-wind just to watch that moment again, and it still makes me laugh out loud. Well done. Keep going. Your content is better that most stuff on britsh tv.

Honest to goodness your subs should be over a million. You have one of the best retro hardware shows on youtube.

For making replacements of these old chips, I hope more FPGA designers take advantage of the Fossi Foundation. To make a new chip in the form of an ASIC, you submit your FPGA code, and they'll do a large run of chips for free (paid for by Google), including the packaging the chip comes on (if you're happy to go open-source)

That turned out beautiful. Well done Chris and well done to all the creators and developers out there making this possible.

That all NEW C64 is a thing of beauty! -- I don't get how anyone can say anything negative about your content, you have brought the retro community more nostalgia than anyone else on the platform and your loyal followers closer to our fondest memories of a golden age in computing. Keep up the amazing work!

I could emulate a C64 all day long on my PC and be perfectly fine... BUT seeing this.... the desire is strong, the system looks wonderful
