Sinus bradycardia ECG/EKG interpretation, causes, treatment, nursing interventions, and more in this cardiac heart rhythms NCLEX review.

Sinus bradycardia is a type of sinus heart rhythm with a slow rate that is typically less than 60 beats per minute (bpm).

In this lecture, you'll learn how to analyze an ECG strip to determine whether sinus bradycardia is present. Specifically, you'll analyze the P wave, QRS complex, T wave, PR interval, QT interval, ST segment, and so on.

You'll also learn the nurse's role when dealing with a patient with sinus bradycardia, such as medications that are commonly used, assessments to perform, and more.

Learning the causes for sinus bradycardia is also important, and some examples can be due to sick sinus syndrome, old age, hyperkalemia, and many more.

Pacemakers are sometimes used in patients with sinus bradycardia, as well as other interventions.

Thank you for your video. I am 38 years old. And In recent years I am experiencing my tiredness and fatigue getting worse. Especially after covid. It was managble before. But now it affects me so much that I have to call in sick almost every week. A few months ago I started therapy for my ADHD and got ritalin prescribed. And that one really made the difference.
But the moment I take it off for 2 or 3 days it gets terrible again.
Now the reason I mention all that is that I am looking for the cause for years. And since I bought now a smartpmwatch a couple weeks ago I can see my heartrate drop to 40 every night when it usually is at 80 - 90 during the day. Maybe that is the cause for feeling like vomitted out every morning. Especially without my meds.
This video now confirmed that I should have someone take a look at my heart. Especiallt since I remembered recently that a doc in my past found a bundle block but said it is fine at the moment but should be kept an eye on. And I forgot about that over the years. Don’t know if that is related.

I’ve had Afib back in July and was hospitalized overnight and when I was prescribed Atenolol, it caused me to have sinus bradycardia and my cardiologist prescribed me MulTaq which prevents Afib and keeps my heart at a normal rhythm. By the way my Apple Watch has an EKG on it and I use it every once in a while to make sure my heart is not out of rhythm.

I've been threatened to put a pace maker in. Your description is helping me to understand what is going on with me. I think vagus nerve is the culprit of my bradycardia
