Papyrus has battle iq. Sans doesn’t battle unless you do genocide. Papyrus on the other hand is in training for a team of warriors. Though, he will never get in he would definitely be educated on battling seeing as how he does up and down bones which sans doesn’t.

Even though this is old, im pretty sure Papyrus would win. He has huge potential but does not want to hurt anyone. Papyrus is actually very smart - which people ignore because they only judge him for his surface. Flowey says Papyrus is his favourite which implies, heavily, that there's a lot more to Papyrus then you think meaning he's full of surprises. The fact that Papyrus loves puzzles alone shows theres a hidden genius to him. If i remember correctly Papyrus has fewer, bigger, blasters than Sans which are deadlier? Papyrus seems to be the more in tune with emotions of the two two as well, since Sans has given in to apathy and depression, so if his anger took over im pretty sure he would be incredibly hard to defeat as an opponent.

Papyrus has more battle IQ as he was trained constantly by Undyne, however he may have forgotten after Undyne shifted into cooking

In my opinion, if it were a battle to the death, papyrus would win since he has not committed any sin so he would not have KR and would only receive 1 damage.

There is this one theory that could change the outcome of the battle.
The theory is that Papyrus is a lot stronger than what we saw, because monster that don't want to kill you or aren't consentrating alot don't move alot during battle. For example toriel. She doesn't want to kill you but she still can because her face is still moving during battle. Monsters like undyne who move alot and are consentrating on killing you on the other hand are using their all of their power to kill you. Papyrus doesn't move. His eyes, mouth and body don't move even a little bit. He olso doesn't kill you during the battle. Even though he isn't consentrating he can still spell words with his attacks and avoid killing you. That must take alot of skill. So if the theory is right Papyrus could be stronger than Asgore. Asgore is stronger than Sans so if Papyrus can beat Asgore he can beat Sans.

To be honest, looking at the things Papyrus has demonstrated he is capable of, he could have us dead in seconds if he wasn't so merciful and innocent. Hell the only ones who'd stand a chance against him are Asgore and Undyne.

If we were to assume that neither sides were holding back at all, Papyrus would completely destroy Sans. Sans attacks don't do enough damage to kill Papyrus fast enough and Papyrus sends out so many attacks in a turn that Sans wouldn't be able to dodge them. Sans only ever dodges one attack at a time. Papyrus defence and HP are so high that even KR would have very little effect on him.

Hell Papyrus is already a somewhat tough fight in a normal play through and hes barely paying attention and has no intention at all to kill you. He WON'T kill you ever.

Undyne acknowledges Papyrus as being very strong and he demonstrates this repeatedly in his fight. He can summon bones larger than the attack box, manipulate gravity, summon dozens of bones at once, write full words in bones that he's using to fight, summon a literal skate board (with a bone riding it) and utilising complex attack patterns all without proper training and while holding a conversation both with you and himself AND while holding back immensely.

Papyrus could probably beat Asgore if he so decided to.

even if papyrus doesnt get dealt KR, that doesnt mean the iframes dont exist. Sans would most likely win on this one if he kills papyrus fast enough cause he can only dodge 21 times before he's gone.
Probably will realize papyrus is trying to end him when he reaches his second phase.

In my opinion, Sans would beat Papyrus in a fight. He's a skilled fighter with more experience, higher stats, and unique abilities like dodging and manipulating the game's interface.

Fun fact:sans let papyrus win because in genocide papyrus died sans want revenge if papyrus survive sans would do anything to get back papyrus that's why if u hit sans sans would say papyrus do u want anything? Because sans love his brother Soo much

Papyrus has precise magic control that he can lower you down to 1 hp to just capture you, undyne said he was strong but hes soft, in the pacifist route flowey restrains everyone with 2 vines except papyrus, flowey restrains papyrus with 4 vines flowey knows alot of things about papyrus, to further defend this when you hang out with sans after sparing papyrus sans says "have you ever heard about a talking flower?" And if you answer "yes" sans will say "cool so you know all about echo flowers, papyrus said he was talking to a flower" something like that and then sans just shrugs it off thinking that its probably someone playing a harmless prank on paps

But sans would most likely win
