I hate this tipping culture. Just pay your workers a decent wage.

I don’t tip unless you are going out of your way to help me. Otherwise you are just doing your job! I don’t wanna hear a sad story about you don’t make enough money. If that’s the case then go find a better job that pays better. I work in the public industry and I don’t expect a tip for doing what I have to do to make my customers happy. If I get a tip out of that then great. But if I don’t then great as well. It doesn’t change my job description and what I have to do

Will not pay Gratuities any more, visit the CSR Desk to cancel on every Trip. Will give a tip who goes beyond to make my stay memorable. 🙏

I go to customer service and remove my automatic gratuities all the time.
*I tip my room attendant in cash.
*I tip the people who handle my bags.
*I tip the waiters and cleaners I interact with.

I ALWAYS opt out of tips as soon as we embark on the way to our cabin

Great video. First cruise for us coming up.
My thought on the added tips, I prepaid for it for budgeting and don’t have to worry about the cost at the end of the trip.

One thought on the video. Is the end was really quick and I thought maybe apart of the video was cut off. If that’s not the case, I would recommend have a wrap up or small join me next time message at the end of the video to help the flow.

This is very interesting because we were talking to some workers that worked off of a cruise and they said they see no such money from the gratuities. This is nothing, but just an optional hidden fee that people are actually dumb enough to pay! Because all due respect…. cruises suck anyway! And I’m not gonna pay extra money for something I didn’t enjoy.

The cruise lines cause all of this grief by not paying their employees a fair wage. Why do they do this? It gives them the ability to advertise super low fares to get bookings. Then they nickel and dime you to death for literally everything, even water. Pay your staff a living wage and stop forcing them to live off the gratuity scam.

I tip over but Im also scaling back bc once I add in the prepaid, specialty dining and drink package tips, it's a lot. Therefore, I bring a little extra for the cabin steward and some $ for drinks.

I have been on over 100 cruises and now it is a ripoff; I always tell the front desk that I am giving to people that take good care of me.

She is avoiding the real issue. It does not matter whether you prepay gratuities or not. The issue is if you pay them at all.

Uber drivers can tell you that passengers that state that they will be tipping in the App generally do not ever tip at all. I wonder if there is a similar thought among cruise ship personnel.

The wording she is using in this video is confusing me. She said she doesn't prepay the gratuities, but then she said she likes the included gratuities because they are fairly distributed. What am I missing

Some people cannot afford to tip but they do pay there gratuity, and to be honest you do not even have to pay that (but I do think you should) But If your paying your gratuity, I see no problem if you cannot afford to pay extra tips, for some a cruise is a once in a lifetime experience I know many more people are in the lower income level then the higher. And any employee knows what there wage is and whats expected from there job as well as not eveytime will there be tips or bonuses, and they choose if they are going to work for that employer. I say tip what you can and enjoy your trip, and if you can tip more and want to please do, but do not judge others from your life view point because not everyones life view point is the same. And really what bussiness is it of anyones what another person is tipping or not tipping stay in your lane

1:46 the benefit is that at pre paying at booking the rate is 16 a day vs once the cruise starts its 18.50 a day big difference

So, we're getting ready for our 1st cruise on Carnival and are thinking about prepaying our tips and gratuities. We're not getting the drink package and if I get charged an extra 18% every time I buy a drink doesn't that equate to double tipping? Is that something I can get removed from my bill at the end of the cruise? Thanks

I'm only ever cruising on Princess on casino offers. The offer includes crew gratuities. I'm curious how this gets split up, because if my cabin steward, waiter, and waiters assistant aren't getting a significant portion of MY included gratuities, should I be doing additional cash tips? Just want to make sure I include it in my budget. Our next cruise is 20 nights out of Tokyo on Diamond Princess. 4 people in a minisuite. Throw some numbers at me.
