I’m glad you’re doing well now and that you’re still with us. I, unfortunately, lost my husband unexpectedly due to a PE a couple years ago. He wasn’t sure why his knee was hurting and then said he had gone to the gym and thought it was because of that. He didn’t have any redness or swelling. The next day, when he went to drop our baby off before work, he called me saying he was having a panic attack and I ended up being his first responder. I lost my husband that day and he was only 33 years old. Our baby had just turned 2. Don’t ignore the signs your body is showing you. Don’t hesitate to get care because it could be the end for you.

People often don’t pause and reflect how lucky they are when things like this happen. You’re very lucky. Very happy to see that you were ok.

Justine I’ve watched you for years and years. I’m so glad you’re ok. You seem like such a trooper. I too am going thru health issues but no where as serious as you. You’re in my prayers and meditations. Get better!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hey Justine, I’ve also had a PE when I was 21. Please keep in mind that you have an increased risk of reoccurring thrombosis now. I’m glad you’re not taking your flight because my doctor strictly forbid any flying for at least six months after my PE. I totally get that you don’t like needles but when you come off the blood thinners, please consider injecting blood thinners just before and after any flights you take. It’s been 5 years for me now and once in a while I can feel where my PE was because I think 1/3 of people develop a little bit of scar tissue in their lunges. Glad you’re ok, roughly every fourth person doesn’t survive a PE.

I'm glad your ok and better! Back in June 2020 my boss's daughter was teaching over in Turkey, she broke her ankle and was on blood thinners, her ankle in a cast, 3 days later she died of a blood clot that went to her brain, she was 34 at the time. My boss got a call from the hospital in Turkey at 5am our time (Western Canada). Was a very bad day to say. I knew his daughter for 10 years and then she was gone.

Glad everything came out ok in the end, blood clots are definitely not something you want to take lightly. Make sure you get plenty of rest, glad you’re still with us 🙂 Big props to Jenna for being by your side throughout the whole ordeal, she’s a great sister.

Blood clots are no joke! My dad got a serious one in his small intestine (no doctor in the hospital had ever seen it, even the specialist had to resort to text books). He was in the hospital for two weeks, was told that if he had waited another hour to go to the hospital, he would have died.
So glad you are okay Justine!

Justine I am so happy that you are still here. My mom had multiple blood clots in her legs because a full knee replacement. They soon transferred her to a nearby hospital. They soon traveled to her lungs. She had a pulmonary embolism. She had many surgeries and many many days at the hospital. Soon she returned home and is still having difficulties. I hope the best for you and your family. Hope you can get better soon.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Im a nurse and often forget how scary a hospital experience can be. I try to communicate with my patients what's going on, but they may not always know. And unfortunately bloo d clots have a been a big symptom of COVID and the vaccine. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I'm glad you are home safe. I think something a lot of people don't realise is how traumatising hospitalisation is, especially in an emergency setting. I don't recommend it! Justine, I hope you don't have to experience anything like that again for a very long time.x
