I agree that it would have made narrative sense for Milo to kill Iris overall, but that just sets her up as another victim Mike has to save/avenge. Her taking charge of her own ending was her way to reclaim her narrative and make a decision about her future. She clearly stated what she wanted, but all of the men in her life denied her agency saying “you don’t want that” or “you won’t survive here”. At the end of the day, the only thing Iris had control of in that moment was how she died and she took it.

Yeah. That gun in the morning foreshadowed suicide. Kareem hadn't been right since the riot, then his wife left him with his kid. Losing his job was the last straw. Suicide by Aryan was the one thing he could do to at least set his wife and kid up, with his pension and benefits from dying in the line of duty. He called them, in what was obviously his last call to them. He spoke to Bunny's guard, after following through with what he said he'd do - find out who set up the hit on the Aryan leader. Not to get the guy in trouble, but just to warn him, that he is not playing for the good guys. He concluded all of his last business on Earth and went to die.

If this hadn't been the season, likely series finale, had the season moved along more rapidly with more action all along, this might have been an interesting element to include in Mike's 'woe is me'/I'm-a-bad-person monologue in this episode. Nobody thinks Mike's evil for shooting Milo; indeed, every woman he speaks with reassures him that he has atoned, that he is good, that he possesses goodness. Taking Robert out this episode would have had him accepting that atonement, and resetting the scales. Unfortunately, it did not play out like that. We had an uneventful season, capped by a few great episodes at the tail end, without this poetic justice making more sense of his narration.

Yes, and whatever Mike and Bunny were talking about being outside whatever line that's between Kingstown supposedly being even worse definitely eluded to Season 4 having county/state level PD gangs/cop threats (and/or both)—could potentially be very interesting if setup correctly right by story writers. The series definitely ended on a dark and more or less melancholy note, still I hope we get a Season 4.

I feel like the finale really set up some tension for next season. Evelyn is kinda dumb, she’s got to know Mike is the only one looking out for her, now she’s burning that bridge. Curious as to how Robert will react going forward. Iris committing suicide felt a bit off to me, I think it would’ve made more sense for Milo to kill her on the boat. I am glad that Milo is done. I’m hoping we get to see a different side of Mike next season, considering Iris is dead, Evelyn is going after Kyle and Ian, I think that could lead to seeing a darker side of Mike.

Iris / Hannah was self-destructive from the start, no doubt courtesy of her treatment at the hands of the Russians. I didn't think she would kill herself on the bus but it didn't look good when she did a 180 degree turn and left Mike to get on that bus. I still believe the prison riot at the end of Season 1 was the most difficult to watch but compelling television I've seen in years. I hope Sheridan gets back to the other chapters in the Yellowstone saga - I loved 1883 and 1923 is looking just as promising. Finally, kudos to Jeremy Renner for throwing himself back into filming after his horrific accident.

He was being fired, losing his pension and he couldn't face telling his wife, so he made a deal with the Arian guy to kill him. He gets insurance too for family. He nodded slightly to the white guy, there was no one down and he barely cried for back up. He said it so it was recorded, but not loud enough for back up rt away. At least that was my opinion. Open to others.

What the fuck?? Why did Kareem do that??

Only theory I have is that he wanted to die, but didn't want to commit suicide, as he would lose any insurance/benefits, so he chose to die in the 'line of duty'

I don’t think it was pre arranged except in his mind. I for a second thought these were the guys who beat him up the in the riot it was so long ago. He just wanted to provide for his family and exit

Exactly how I thought as well. Got that money for his kiddos and wife. Wild but in a twisted way good man. Strong decision but kinda broken as well.

U got alot of this wrong. Iris didn't call Mike. Melo called Mike on iris phone. Evelyn didn't say she would kill ian. She said she would take him down. Meaning Have him go to prison.

So is season 3 the last season of the show?

You sure it’s a deal and not just an unwritten rule prisoners have to engage solo guards? Pretty sure the aryan had to kill Kareem or they risk looking weak against a singular guard with no back up

I agree with this but I also think Mike is going to turn against Evelyn and either kill her or set her up to lose her job, maybe get arrested, or killed. Maybe Robert follows through and kills Evelyn and then Mike sets him up to go down? Or then kills him and claims self defense? I am most interested to see what happens with Kyle. Mike talked the whole episode about how he had to do evil things to survive. Will Kyle have to do the same? Mike said he will always protect him, how is he going to do that now? Callahan will surely tell them if he’s still alive that Mike betrayed him so Kyle won’t be able to join the AB. Also, Kyle is going to have no friends in prison so very interesting to see what happens there. He’s a cop so every inmate will be his enemy and he shot a cop so all of the guards will be against him too. Idk how he survives but shit is going to be crazy.
