Series Creator Hugh Dillon Talks Mayor of Kingstown Season 3, Jeremy Renner's Comeback & Left 4 Dead

On this episode of The Movie Podcast, Daniel and Anthony are joined by Hugh Dillon, the creator of the series Mayor of Kingstown. Now in its third season, Paramount's Mayor of Kingstown was co-created and executive-produced by Hugh Dillon and the Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated Taylor Sheridan (Sicario, Hell or High Water, Yellowstone). Alongside Jeremy Renner, Dillon stars as Detective Ian Ferguson and is also a credited writer. Mayor of Kingstown premiered on Paramount+ in November 2021.

Dillon first gained fame as the frontman of the multi-platinum rock band, Headstones, before transitioning to acting with a lead role in the 1996 cult-classic film, Hard Core Logo, distributed by Quentin Tarantino. His talent for portraying complex characters led to notable roles in Down To The Bone, Durham County, Flashpoint, AMC's The Killing, Continuum, Showtime's Twin Peaks, Wind River, and Yellowstone. Dillon continues to expand his creative portfolio by writing, developing, and producing stories such as Low Life Kings, Suffer Machine, and NORCO, and his short film Issues premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. As a voice actor, he has represented multinational brands and voiced the video game Left4Dead. With Headstones, Dillon has recorded ten albums with multiple top-ten hits. Dillon's diverse experiences and dedication make him a standout in the entertainment industry.

MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN follows the McLusky family – power brokers in Kingstown, Mich., where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither. Hugh Dillon is so fucking cool, and the fact is, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEX LUTHOR. He has presence and attitude along with the obvious bald head, but he would just destroy it on screen.
